Anti-jinx, anti-jinx, anti-jinx....I think we're getting back on track here....anti-jinx, anti-jinx, anti-jinx. Both last night and this morning, her appy has been considerably happier...still a little tentative, IMO, but happier. She's no longer "scrunching" away from me when she's done, and she's digging in rather than just skimming off the top. I'd still like to see her eating more, and more enthusiastically, but she is definitely making forwar progress.
Snuggles and feistiness are in place for the most part, although she again had a period last night where she looked like she didn't feel super great. It always seems to happen in the evening....I don't know why that is. It was a shorter period than the previous nights, though, so again, I do think we're getting back on track.
I do have to talk to the vetty about these flare-ups she gets a few days after vetty visits, just to keep her in the loop.
And talk about spoiled...earlier, she and Zen were curled up together on the cushy computer chair while I sat on the hard dining room chair. It was time for a snack, so they're cozied up on the chair as I'm holding the plate and Zen is bathing her at the same time. What a princess
!!!
Thank you, everyone, for sharing your ingrown claw experiences! When Noah, Petey and Zen (my triplets....littermates) were kittens, I was determined to get them used to us trimming their claws. We'd trim a few and as soon as they started wiggling too much, we'd let them go and then continue again later. But, one time I did manage to get Noah's quick....he yelped and ran off leaving bloody little foot prints. It wasn't really bad, but it was enough to traumatize this MamaBean into never clipping claws again
! And they are SO good about directing their claws to their scratchers (most of the time), that I never really worried about it after the quick-clipping incident. Ugh. Live and learn. I did used to take our GA civvie, Mario, for routine mani-pedis, so maybe I need to start doing that with Noah. I'll certainly be keeping closer tabs on their claws...
We're supposed to get measurable s*** today, rain tomorrow, and more measurable s*** on Thursday. Enough already with this winter nonsense!!! I'm off today, but want to get my errands done before the inclimate weather begins....
Have a great day, L&LL!
