R did a fantastic job keeping the numbers from going too high after the fur shot yesterday.

Just haven't found the right dose yet. Keep the faith! We are all pulling for you and Maxi to see some lower numbers.

But 2 hours after R last night his number went up...?
But the numbers went down during the day, in spite of the fur shot. And you didn't see any reds, could have been worse.

It still just doesn't look like the insulin has changed anything. For example, looking at April 2 and 3 AMs suggests that Lantus doesn't do anything for him.

I know it seemed that it was like I was just shooting saline solution in Freckles... until I had a furshot. We could see that the insulin was doing something in other ways other than just lower numbers ie. no keytones, better fur, stabilized weight, walking better, numbers aren't on the moon, having more energy, appetite not as ravenous etc...

Today the R took him down 129 points to +4. We don't want any more of a drop than that, or you'll get a bounce from the fast drop. Taking him down to yellow has given the Lantus a better number to latch onto. Given that the effect of a fur shot is often seen for a few cycles after the fur shot, that's not bad action today. Wait until the 6.5 unit depot has built back up before deciding how good a job R is doing. Right now it's mostly in damage control mode. Look back to the PM cycle of 3/30 and AM of the following day. So far last night and today look better than that did. In spite of the fact that you think you did more of a fur shot this time that you did 3/30 AM. 4/02 AM looks like a bounce from the drop the previous day.
