Hi all,
So 3u R didn't move Crystal down into blue yesterday, but today, when I decided not to give her any R this morning as I was out for a few hours, she presents me with 169 at +9. Delayed reaction or what? any thoughts gratefully appreciated. Hope she isn't too low at PMPS as we are out this evening, but should be back in time for her +5.

Interesting on the delayed effect of R. I've often heard it's effects are seen the following cycle but this is two cycles.

As for tonight, it looks like Crystal often likes to nadir at PS time. Are you right out the door after shot time? Or do you have time for a test after that to see if she's rising? Looking at the other times she's given you a blue preshot, she heads up for a while to onset before turning around again. You are probably fine if you are back for +5. If you are worried or don't have a time for an out the door test, you can always give her a little higher carb snack.

@Wendy&Neko, thanks for your comments. Just tested her at +11 and she was 126, have about 40 minutes before I do her t/f/s at 18.00 but looking like she will still be going down. We are going out at 18.30 (about an hour and 20 minutes from now). If I shoot and give her a bit of HC food mixed in with her raw mix do you think that would be okay, I would rather not miss a shot altogether.

Back home, just tested at +5.5 and she is 120:cool: looks like she's had a nice blue surf while i've been gone. Just gave her a little bit of hc mixed with her normal bedtime snack. Will be up for an hour or so to get another test.

Thanks Peg, yes we did have a nice time but I was slightly worried leaving Crystal at that level. Just off to bed now having got a +7.5 of 147.

lovely!

I can't explain an R delay that long. I'm not sure what to think of it. Sandy has said that in an iaa cat the R can act like a slower-acting insulin, but i don't think we've seen anything like this in Crystal before.

Just more information to note for the future.

Very strange goings on, AMBG of 120, still blue all this time. Will shoot and keep a close eye on her., don't know what to make of her numbers.

I wonder if Julie is onto something with the IAA. It can be very unpredictable. It could be that those earlier cycles when you didn't see much action with R, the auto-antibodies bound to the R and they just started releasing it so it could work now. All speculation of course. In the meantime - enjoying these lovely numbers. :)
