Hoping yesterday's PM was a little NDW, or because of the storm we had.
The liquid diarrhea did resolve yesterday, but it has started up again now! I've tried everything, pumpkin, probiotics, yogurt, everything makes her vomit. And the diarrhea just comes and goes.

Eleanor has been jumping onto the bookcase to and from her window perch again the past couple of weeks. She hadn't done that in 2 months, I was worried it might be the beginning of neuropathy or something. I guess she just had not felt like it.
She is really her old self again.

The doctor changed one of my meds I take for Lupus, I couldn't deal with the nightmares it was causing. The last one had me swimming in the ocean and trapped under a coral reef, I knew I was going to drown but I couldn't move to get out. When I woke up from that little doozy, I said, okay enough!!!

I hope everyone has a good day today.

Sorry about the diarrhea. SEB helped Doodles pretty quickly after a dose or two of it. Are you able to associate a flavor of food with it? Even if you've been feeding it for a while with no issues all of a sudden their bodies and "not like it". Nice to hear she's feeling good otherwise.

Sending vines the new meds help get rid of that nightmare!

Bummer about the runny poops, but yay that Eleanor is otherwise feeling great!! We have sensitive tummy kitties here, too, and their issues also come and go. It's frustrating.

I hope the new meds help - those nightmares sound horrible!! Have a great day, Julie!

Here is some great info on probiotics and it's good to read it all but I think you might want to scroll down and read about giving S. boulardi. It is particularly helpful in stopping diarrhea as long as the kitty is not hyperthyroid, doesn't have low B12, and doesn't have EPI. I know you haven't had the GI panel done which will tell you if she is low in B12 or if she has EPI. With EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency), they tend to have very yellow or pale and extremely stinky poos.

I wouldn't be surprised if she has low B12 but unless you've seen a new vet, I don't believe you are giving B12 injections. You could try the S. boulardi. It won't hurt her but may not help if she has low B12.

I've also used SEB with lots of success. But just giving you another option as well.

Thanks everyone!
I tried giving Eleanor s.boulardi after reading about it on an IBS site, I started with a very small amount and after 3 days she started vomiting it. I stopped it, waited two weeks and started again with an even smaller amount, she started vomiting again. It is very frustrating.
Now that she is feeling better generally, maybe I should try it again!
I can't get much of the SEB into her, she seems to think it tastes terrible.

What is the GI Panel called? Is there a specific lab that does it?

yikes on those nightmares! How terrible. I would stop that med also - hope your new meds are helpful, though.

We had good luck with Accuflora for punkin - it just happened to be a human probiotic that was here at our house. I want to say I gave him 1/4 tablet. Many probiotics have s. boulardi in them. Good luck figuring out something that helps Eleanor's tummy. At least she's feeling good overall.

Sending lots of feel better thoughts to you and your sweet Eleanor. Radar has lots of tummy issues which make him queasy so he won't eat. He seems to be responding well to just a little bit of unpasteurized goats milk every day. I haven't had to coax him to eat since I started giving it to him. It might be worth a try.... ?
