Yesterday: Boomer's big escape
Good morning!
Thank you to everyone yesterday for their help, suggestions, light, vines, prayers, and ideas! When Boomer showed up the second time he was "talking" and obviously wanted in. I had closed the screen door earlier because I was afraid a skunk or raccoon might be drawn to the smell of food and walk in. So I edged towards the door and sat down and held up the plate of tuna so he could get a good whiff of it and then edged the door open as to not scare him off. You can imagine my relief when he came in far enough that I was able to close the screen door behind him. And it appears he survived Boomer's Big Escape unscathed....no cuts, bites, nothing tangled in his hair. Nothing! He just appeared tired . When I came out of the bathroom right before bed, he had already jumped up and was having a tummy rub by Daddy Bean. When I went to sleep he was laying on the bench with his head on my hoodie (a normal spot for him to spend part of the night) but when I woke up at some point during the night he was stretched out beside me and he was still there this morning at 7:00. Not sure at this point what he ate last night; DH got up to start coffee and picked up the 3 plates of food so that Allen wouldn't eat them. DH did say there was one plate basically untouched which I'm betting was the chicken pate since Boomer isn't a big fan.

Don't know what I was expecting in the way of an AMPS but I do know it wasn't that!

Allen hardly ate anything overnight but during the evening he kept munching on the food that we were leaving for Boomer by the back door.

Today's menu: AMPs chicken pate with fowl ball, +3 ff seafood, +6 wellness chicken, +9 turkey pate

Today I have to do all the things that I was supposed to do yesterday but didn't get done because of worrying about you-know-who! Plus a trip to the pet store for food since tomorrow is a holiday and stores are closed.

Boomer had quite the adventure! I hope he rests today and doesn't get that idea again to try to sneak out! Silly boy! If only they could talk....I'd love to hear his thoughts about being outside! Lol

So glad he's home safe and sound...what a scary day! Quite the AMPS there, too...maybe from not eating enough yesterday???? I hope you guys are able to relax today.

What a nice surprise for a AMPS, guess Boomer wasn't out hunting last night. The exercise and even the stress of him being in the wild along with missing some meals could have enough to lower him today.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if that scary experience became the "sacred event" that started him to go ..........(not going to even say it)

Poor Allen, wonder if he picked up on the stress in the household last night while Boomer was AWL.

My boy is all tired out after his big adventure yesterday!

Judy, one time Bubba pulled an all- nighter, ugh, I was a mess...... hardly slept and when in the AM at 6 he was still not home, I was more than worried. I went looking for him about 5 acres away and found him up high in a tree and when I called his name, I could hardly hear his hoarse little meow. Poor boyh must have been crying all night. ugh......... Had to get DH home from work to bring a ladder and have to climb some into the tree to get him. Well, that boy I think slept for 48 hours and hardly even wanted to eat as he was so exhausted. ( that was before FD) He repeated that one more time in the winter with snow on the ground and stayed up in a tree all night long in freezing cold conditions. I believe he was being chased by a fox.

What we go through with these kits........ So very glad that he is safe at home and I so know what you went through last night. I loved @Dyana putting out the sleeping bag! That was above and beyond the call of duty!

Boomer buddy what were you thinking... poor mama and daddy bean!... waiting and worrying is the worse and with them being sugar kitties even more worry.... so thankful to read he came home and today is just surfing those greens once more... stay for the cuddles, snuggles and good food Boomer nothing that great outside really... cars, other animals and unkind people... best to stay in your world with those that love you and keep you safe :bighug::bighug::bighug:really happy to read he came home Judy

On Boomer's menu tonight: PMPS cod sole and shrimp, +3 seafood feast, +6 wellness chicken and fowl ball +9 turkey pate and fowl ball
And I think I detected a slight limp on his right side tonight. Will keep an eye on it.
He's been resting all day; came up on the couch for a wee bit this afternoon for tummy rubs from daddy bean and head scratches from me. And I've had to bring him out to the kitchen for every single meal although once here he's yelling at me to hurry and fix his plate . Of course he is less hungry when his numbers are low.

I just finished reading yesterday's thread! What a harrowing night Boomer put you through. I'm so glad he's home safe and I hope you don't have to go through anything like that ever again. These kitties sure know how to stir things up when they want to!
