No 3 a.m. sneeze fest last night thank goodness. Those were really loud and went on and on and were quite scary. Over the evening he sneezed some but I was gone all afternoon so don't know about that. I doubt the l-lysine can be working this fast so we shall see what today brings. Thanks for asking @smilelari and @Doodles & Karen.

It might be. @carfurby has tons of experience with l-lysine and a sneezing kitty.

I gave it to Tiffany. I've read it usually takes about a week to kick in. More recently studies show it doesn't work but it seemed to for Tif so I'm trying it.

Sure wish I wasn't experienced, sigh. He's sneezing again but not as bad.

I hope the sneezing gets better soon. Sending prayers.

    I've not used l-lysine before. It's Zyrtec I've used.

Do you notice any side effects from Zyrtec?

I haven't noticed any with any of my cats. I've seen others mention is makes their cats either sleepy or hungry.

Oh Max. No need to audition for the Sneezy role in Snow White. So. Stop practicing.

Sure hope the sneezing keeps reducing, Elise.

China's been on ChlorTrimeton and Zyrtec when her allergies are acting up....It doesn't seem to bother her but it's kind of hard to tell if it might be making her sleepier than usual since snoozing is her favorite pastime ...other than possibly being a little more sleepy, they seem to help without any other side effects

Hope you find something that works safely and is effective for Max!!

@jayla-n-Drevon I haven't left him in years. He hides if anyone comes over and I could never board him. Tricia does it and so do many others. Do you have someone they like and you trust? How long will you be gone?

Elise, how is Max's BP? Zyrtec isn't a good idea if BP is an issue. Chlortrimaton is okay, though. I take BP meds and that's the only antihistamine I'm supposed to take.

I gave Zyrtec to Sasha and I never saw any side effects.

Sending healing vines and prayers for your DM, anti-sneezing vines for Max and :bighug:s for you.

    hi!
I have a sitter they love but that was pre FD-
    I never board them either-
I am going to PM Sienne later and see if she has a tech or someone who can come over just to medicate-
I am really unsure about leaving them tho....
Rico would be close to impossible to give meds to-
Dre is pretty cooperative and friendly.... Rico needs to warm up.(and will bite)

That is interesting about Zyrtec. I told my vet I was giving it and he said it was okay. Now I'm afraid to use it as Max gets amlodipine. I know he could get benedryl. Maybe I should try that if this continues. He's sneezing this morning.:(:nailbiting: Thanks Tricia. So far all I've given him is l-lysine. The bottle only mentions liver or kidney disease and not bp. I'm going to check drugs.com too.
