Good morning!
AMPS 113 shooting 1F

Boomer was CPC for +3 and +9 but left about 1/3 of his +6 fuds.

Allen is fasting. We will give him his pill (for calcium level) at 11:00 (which will be his 12 hour fasting) then take him to Dr Larry for repeat b/w since the lab's courier screwed it up last week. And I've finally convinced Dr Larry to give us a p-binder. It's apparently something he doesn't keep on hand but he has ordered it. Question for Beans with a CKD kitty that use p-binder......are there foods that we still should not feed Allen? I got used to looking for low phosphorous levels but he's been so picky that I really haven't considered anything other than the phosphorous level.

On Boomer's menu today: AMPS Wellness chicken, +3 chicken pate, +6 wellness chicken, +9 ff seafood

On the Bean's schedule today: vetty visit at noon (+4) with Allen. I have a couple of errands to run. And I must get some editing done! I have portrait editing that I must do and I haven't had a chance to edit any of my wildlife images that I've taken over the last couple of weeks.

Can't help with your food question, but I have read that chopped, cooked egg whites are good for a CKD kitty. We hope the blood work goes smoothly today. Poor Allen has to fast again!
Have a good day, Judy.
Back to the lagoon, Deputy Boomer!

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) I know you feed Rusty a fancy feast that isn't seafood.....what kind do you feed him? I'm looking for non-seafood options for Boomer.

For Trix, I still look for lower phosphorous foods even though we use the binder....but her CKD is very advanced. The binder did help, though, even with Fancy Feast which is absurdly high in phosphorous (and was the only thing she'd eat for a long time, so we were stuck). Good luck with Allen's labs today...courier better not mess up again!

I had to start her back on insulin. So far I'm not doing very well with the shots. I've given a couple of fur shots. It's hard to get back on track after a year and a half without shots. She's still stuck in yellow. Thanks for asking.
yeah I've given a couple of fur shots recently too....it's very frustrating!

Good luck with Allen today and glad to hear you're getting the P-binder. There isn't many options for food that are low P and low C so hope that helps. Moo will eat the FF T&G in rotation. She was hooked on Salmon only..she pouted for 1.5 days but eventually gave in to various brands of Turkey flavors.

yup I've seen that pout a few times here  my poor mistreated starved babies:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Boomer, you iz stuck in a rut, move it!

What kind of p-binder are you getting? Thriving Pets ships to Canada and I used their aluminum hydroxide. If Allen will eat low phosphorus foods, it's good to keep them in rotation. Some types of binder can cause constipation, so the less you have to use, the better. Paws crossed for good bloodwork today.

Hey Judy!

Are you part of the Tanya's CKD group? They're a wealth of information there - towards the very tail end I was using a P binder but it's been years, I just don't know the correct answer to your question but those members there will know for sure how to direct you! They were always very helpful!

Before you pay for the vet's phos bind, check the ingredients. The only one my vet (Ontario) had available was for "dogs and cats." It was peppermint flavoured and loaded with sugar. The aluminum hydroxide from Thriving Pets is the cheapest and best alternative, even with the sucky exchange rate. It's tasteless and a couple of ounces will last you a very, very long time.

I will check it out!

Thanks! I meant to ask him the name of it when I saw him earlier and forgot so I think I'll ask now so I can research.

Ok I must post this picture but I may tomorrow as well lol. I was crafting this afternoon....making a large flower that will hold a newborn baby in the centre. This is just a template so it's a bit sloppy but I put it on the carpet and Allen immediately walked over to it. Picture attached.

That's likely the peppermint gel that most cats hate. Good for dogs though. Neko's IM vet offered it as an option too. My offer of the tasteless powder you just sprinkle on food is still there.
Just found out that's not the one Dr Larry ordered  not sure why he even mentioned it  but he's ordered a flavourless one

Sigh. So Boomer is laying at the back door yelling! I told him there's no one out there that cares and the Beans that care and really love him are in here.:rolleyes::rolleyes::bighug::cat:

PMPS 185:eek::eek::eek: shooting 1F
Well I should have expected that given his +6:rolleyes: I just don't know what is happening here....unless he went lower last night and is bouncing?
On tonight's menu....PMPS and +3 turkey pate, +6 and +9 turkey pate with fowl ball
