Good morning,
Another excellent day for hiking -- clear blue sky, sunshine, it`s chilly out right now, but we dress in layers when we hike in the mountains, so we`re prepared! A bit tired from the late night checking Lulu`s BG, but the fresh air will wake me up.
Will check her levels just before I leave, just to be safe, plenty of fuds and the autofeeder loaded up.
Have a fabulous day everyone.

Thanks, Marilyn and Carla. Was some tough slogging today, I will feel it tomorrow. Happy to see Lulu in blue at PMPS, she`ll look so pretty at the Full Flower Moon Party tonight!

Holy cow, she`s dropped to 41 at +2, out comes the gravy and test in 1/2 hr. Any other advice? I guess another reduction is in order?

Good catch Lori.:D Time to come up Lulu.

Let's see where she is in half an hour. Congrats on the reduction.

@Wendy&Neko , she's up to 52. Test again in an hour?
P.S. I had to chase this cat all over the house to catch her for her test, during test time she's growling, growling. Talk about hostile!

Congrats on the reduction! :D Looking good Lulu!! :D :D

Rosa went through a couple of phases of that - very hostile and she'd run and hide at test time too. Apart from the week she really took against testing, it did seem to coincide with lower numbers. Someone suggested to me that maybe she was getting a headache from low blood sugar that was making her a bit bad tempered - it's possible that might be happening with Lulu too. I know how tough it is to have to go after them and make them be tested when they're behaving like that, but it is important - and she will get over it. :bighug:

You have two choices. You can either test again in half an hour and hope she's on her way up or try to carb her up with more HC. But if you carb her, you will have to keep testing a couple more hours. If you just wait, the risk is that she will go down.

Come on Lulu, you don't have to go back down there tonight - you already earned your reduction! Now up you come and level out for mama - it's not much fun for the beans when you keep them awake all night on a Sunday you know!!

I think the better option would be to test in 1/2 hr. I was on a pretty rugged hike today and am worn out; I don't trust myself to go to sleep and set an alarm -- I'd be worried I'd sleep through it.

Another test in 1/2 hour. The high carb can wear off after two hours so I'd like to see her higher and not under the influence of carbs before you call it a night.

Come on Lulu - 70's is better for surfing than 50's.

Lulu, you little monster! Get back up into some decent numbers before I send Rosa after you to drag you back in!! Looks like it's time for more carbs - sorry Lori, I guess you're stuck with a late night tonight. :(

Depending on how hungry she is, you could carb her way up so you don't have to stay up so late. But even then you'd have to stay up to see what the next snack does for her.

She is so done with this dose!

Looks like you're right. I'm going to put on a pot of coffee. I already cancelled tomorrow's hike once I saw that 41. lol -- I'm the one who used to go to bed at 9 and read til I conked out, usually by 9:30.

In case you hadn't heard yet - often cats will choose the night of the full moon to go either really low, or really high. I guess we know which side Lulu sits on. Sorry about the hike. At least she hadn't really gone down much.

That's weird - I just said to Michael that I'm sure it was around the last full moon that we saw a lot of cats earning reductions on here and I was wondering if it was linked - I didn't know there was actually a link between the full moon and more extreme BG levels!

Lulu is getting revenge for ear pokes, not understanding that this stuff just brings on more ear pokes. Not a pleasant evening here tonight, she came and curled up beside me purring away, 5 minutes before test time. From purring to growling and yowling in minutes. This latest test is 10 points up and I am sitting drinking coffee and watching the clock for next test time.

Poor Lulu, poor you! Lulu - time to make a big jump up and you can reduce the number of pokes!

Ah well...nobody died from lack of sleep or ear pokes. For the first time since her dx, she is down to .75u, that is great :)

Thank goodness, she's up to 90, so I think it's safe enough for me to call it a night. Hope I can get to sleep after the coffee

Yeah! I'm off to bed. You can always leave some low carb food out for her if you are worried, but it looks like she's definitely coming up.

Yep, autofeeder set, and still some LC food in the bowls. Thanks so much staying up so late to guide me through this

Yeah, I'm sure Rosa used to make me stay up late as revenge, not realizing that the later she made me stay up the more ear pokes she got too! I'm glad Lulu's come back up for you at last and is letting you get some sleep. :)

Lulu will get over being upset - Rosa would always be fine after an hour or so when she realized I'd stopped poking her every half hour. ECID but they do mostly seem to forgive us quite easily for all the things we do to them - and it must seem really strange to them that we suddenly start this whole routine. They can't possibly really understand what we're doing or why!

Lulu, you little monster! Get back up into some decent numbers before I send Rosa after you to drag you back in!! Looks like it's time for more carbs - sorry Lori, I guess you're stuck with a late night tonight. :(
I told Lulu that Rosa might be by to drag her back --- so she gave a BG reading of 259 this morning. Lulu! We didn`t mean to zoom up to the yellow, blue would have been nice.

Hey Lulu, Rosa's not that scary - I promise!! Back down you come, but not too fast this time please!
