Questions for you Diane.
Are you happy to keep Tyler's feline diabetes as tightly controlled as you do?
Or did you want to try for even tighter control? Or did you want to go a little bit looser on the BG levels?
Is Tyler happy and feeling well and giving you all good signs on the 5 P's? (Purring, peeing, pooping, preening, playing.) plus his good appetite?
That even tighter control of the BG levels can get time consuming, even more time consuming than Tyler is now.
So stop and think about it.
Think about the time you need to devote to not only Tyler, but to Perry and to your daughter and to taking care of everything else in your life.
Ask yourself when enough is good enough.
Ask yourself if you are willing to put Tyler on a diet. Shedding some weight could help him.
Ask yourself if Tyler would relentlessly beg for more food, even if you cut back from 1 full tablespoon at his snack times to a skinny tablespoon of food.
Would it be worth it? To Tyler, to Perry, to you, to your daughter?
You brought up a lot of good questions
Hey Deb, I guess I'm pretty happy with the the way his numbers are right.
How would you try for even tighter control? Could you tell me what you mean by that
Tyler is feeling well and all the 5 P's are good
You're right about taking care of Tyler, Perry and my daughter is time consuming already for me and sometimes I just want to scream
About Tyler's weight he eats about 2-1/4 cans of FF Pate so that's about 225 calories a day, sometimes less.I try my best to get him to lose weight.
He thinks every time I test him that he's going to get fed
I could try and cut back a little
To tell you the truth I always want things to be perfect, I guess you can say I'm obsessive compulsive
My daughter is getting worse, I'm up very late with her because of how much pain she's in, it's not easy, then I worry about Perry
I guess I'm pretty happy with his numbers, and I'll try not to get frustrated with any blue numbers
I appreciate all your advice, I truly do
If he never goes into remission then I'll just have to accept it
Will speak to you tomorrow
Thank you again, you gave me a lot think about
Just got a 68@+6.25 just thinking what if I had increased his dose for tonight, he might have gone really low
