yesterday & vet visit

Hello everyone,

First of all apologies for not getting back to all those who posted on yesterday's condo - we had a humdinger of an electric storm last night so wisely unplugged TV/PC/Internet - and it then took hours this morning to get up and running, typical. Hope to visit and catch up later.

Crystal had a good AMPS but, thinking that she would rise, I gave her a small dose of R, 0.75u just to try to keep her flat and blue - so far its not working! She's very lively today but is keeping a beady eye on me in case I get the horrid cat carrier out again  it takes her a few days to get over the trauma of the vet visit.

Vines and wishes.

Hope Crystal comes down a bit for you today.
They do hate the vet don't they? Sheba always gives the carrier a wide berth and I have trouble getting her into it. Then at the vet she refuses to get out of it.
Hope you are feeling a bit better about everything after the vet visit. This FD certainly takes up a lot of our time doesn't it?

Excellent way of testing your R scale! See if she can use some under 200 as well. Nice job :)

Cobb used to go into his carrier with no problem. After one traumatic vet visit, he would put his legs on both sides and fight tooth and nail to get in. Then in the car he would make this horrendous howling sound. THAT was fun while moving from South Carolina to Florida, and then Florida back up to Georgia. :woot:

@Bron and Sheba , I don't know how Crystal does it but she knows the carrier is coming out even before I get it out of the garage and trys to find a hiding place. Must be my body language or something. Cries all the way in the car and has to be dragged out of the cage.... I'm stressed before we even start. Could be worse though, one of our cats Oliver (GA) used to vomit, pee and poop - all before I even started the engine up he was so terrified, poor baby.

@Suzanne & Cobb(GA) , wow, that sounds like fun, not. I remember when we moved out here we had 3 cats in the back of the car all the way from the UK to SW France, 15 hours of various howling and toilet stops, not to be recommended. Was a bit difficult this morning gauging what dose of R to give as I couldn't check my history as had no internet connection, so went for a low dose as I've never given R at a blue preshot, dithered for about 10 minutes then decided to go for it, all good experience to be chalked up.

@Peg and Toby thanks for looking in Peg, she has managed to hit the blues at +8, due another one now, if I can find her!

I've always wondering who is more stressed out when the cat is in the car: cat or bean. I've always leaned towards I was the one more stressed out because I was trying to calm him down, while paying attention to the road, etc. I can't imagine a 15 hour trip! 7 was plenty for me.

Nice!:cool::cool: Well done on the R Suki.

After 6 days of 9 to 10 hours in the car travelling to and from Fort Collins for her SRT, Neko is much more mellow travelling now. She used to yell all the way to the vet. A little Feliway spray in her carrier helped too. But the civie who goes to the vet only once a year, has very good radar for the carrier coming out.

Ill have to give the Feliway a go when we take all four for their annual vaccinations in September. Must be the most stressful day of the year with them all yelling and someone always manages to do a poop in their cage. DH always looks forward to that day!

Just taken Crystal's bedtime test of 151, still in blue :)

What a nice numbers day! Congratulations.

26 hours, three cats, one big dog. 3 night's on the road....Wisconsin to Utah over 13 years ago. Hate to say it, but they were great!! Me? Not so much.

@pollydoodle , thanks Marilyn. I think your road trip trumps us all, what a journey.

Just given Crystal a 0.5u R on an AMPS of 162, another experiment of a small dose in blue :nailbiting: at home all day so a good chance to see how she reacts to this.
