I was thinking the same thing, may want to tag Marje and Grace or someone else familiar with high dosing and R. Not sure if Wendy is back yet. Just so someone has eyes on this today, new territory for your little guy.
 
How is he handling the Lantus going in? Any signs of stinging at that high of a dose? Poor little guy, I feel for him and you. Glad to see his numbers are showing some progress after all you two have been through:bighug:

He's not complaining at all about the Lantus. Doesn't bother him at all. He's not loving the testing but he's a trooper.
 
Wendy is not home yet, but on a nine hour bus ride in Peru, and we have Wifi! :woot:

The drop at +1 was not likely due to R, cause I don’t think his R onset is until later. Could be a combo of bounce breaking and new dose talking.

If you haven’t already, I would give him a couple tsps to see if you can slow him down a bit.

Wifi on a bus in Peru yet????? Can't even get it here in most places.

Glad you are checking and have WiFi! Not as many experts on high dose kitties, so glad you are checking in. Maybe it is in the mountains and thy get better signal:joyful:
 
Wow......look at Biscuits go today!!! I’m glad Wendy was available to guide you. I agree that the R+1 wasn’t the R talking but you can see how it grabbed the Lantus.

Even though you are past R+4, don’t let the numbers get too high before you give him a bit more. Keep the R dose low...0.25u at this point for today. But if he heads up quickly to yellow, I’d give him a low dose of R and see if we can keep the BG from zooming up. I know the other day I said if his numbers zoomed after midcycle, to stick with 0.5u if he was pink but we are seeing some movement from the Lantus so let’s just be a bit cautious and see if you can catch him before he gets higher and see if 0.25u can hold him back. Again...we are in a data gathering mode.

Of course, you do not have to shoot R again today. You can see what he’s going to do if you’ve got things you have to do. It’s your call.

I’m not leaving until Monday. There will be no funeral for my DBIL so I’m just going to SC to get my sister and bring her back to AZ next Thurs.
 
Hoping Biscuits can hang at the beach a little with his kitty friends:cat: He sure deserves a break.

I won't be home to test until pmps. I'll give a little R if he's pink or red. Does that sound good?

We didn't get to black!!
And ended the day in yellow.
Any suggestions for tomorrow? Should I give R in the morning since the big drop today?

The 0.25 units tonight took him down more than 100 points, combined with the Lantus action. If he is pink or lower, I would be tempted to see how he does without R in the AM.
