I missed @Wendy&Neko question yesterday about whether Purrdy usually likes to get into sweets (after his raid on mum's cake) the answer is - Purrdy likes to get into everything. Mum has to make sure all dishes are done, the recycling is empty and there is nothing left on the bench or Purrdy will find it. She hears him thumping around checking every night
pre-diabetes he wasn't particularly food oriented but now... It could be something sinister or it could just be that he's on diet rations.
She made another cake yesterday and it was too cold for her to take the recycling out by the time she remembered so the cake went into the cold oven for the night and the recycling into the microwave!
In regard to his higher dose, I have been reading up and it seems that kitty is considered high dose if more than 6u or more than 1.5u/kg so although he's past the 6u he isn't past the 1.5u/kg as he's a pretty big cat, around 6kg and from his latest pics not so chunky anymore. He was a bit fat when the diabetes started but now that he has his leg muscles back and has been dieting, although he hasn't lost too much, his weight is distributed much better - more muscle less fat.
Happy birthday to me today - Vyktor decided on a very special present, he gave me a 160 BG yesterday, the highest he's had since going OTJ and made me think he was going to have to restart insulin, but this morning he gave me an 85
. He ate very poorly yesterday and interestingly, looking back in his diary, the last time he had a reading close to that - 158 in Aug 2014 - was also on a bad eating day 
The state is celebrating with a public holiday (although some may say that is just a coincidence
) and my present to myself will be to finally slice up the tub I bought weeks ago to make Vyktor's special lb - Vyktor reminded me by going over the edge and peeing on the floor again this morning

) The smirk will be wiped off my face tomorrow though, I'm still filling in for the boss 
but he's due back next Tuesday so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel
