Well, it's been a long day but it's over!...just have to go to the doctor in the morning for the first follow up and am looking forward to being able to see clearly out of both eyes!!

Had a crazy morning....ride wasn't supposed to get here until 6:15-6:30 but at 6:05 my phone rang (I was in the middle of T/F/S!)….didn't make it to the phone in time to answer it, but about a minute later he called back. I really had to rush to get everything done and not make him wait!!

Surgery went fine, but getting a ride home was a bit of a nightmare. I was done and ready to go by 9:15 and the hospital called the service....they said it'd be about 30min...3 hours later, someone finally showed up. Each time we called to find out where they were we got the same answer "he had to stop for gas"...For 3 hours???

Anyway, he was a very nice man and apologized profusely for the mix-up even though it wasn't any of his doing and got me home but it was +7 before I got home. Luckily, China was her good little self and stayed safely paddling around!

Going to have to take it real easy on the eyes for awhile, but wanted to update everyone and say Hello!

I am so glad to hear this good news. Too bad about the wait to get home, but China is a very good little gal and didn't want to worry you. Please take good care of yourself, I know you want to be on the computer and help people, but you need to let those eyes heal well, so you can be available in future.

Great news! I'm sure you're glad to have this behind you, and looking forward to enjoying the benefits of the surgery.

China, you are an awesome girl, being so good while Mama was gone! Now please continue to be good while she recuperates!

That is scary stuff, getting eye surgery in both eyes. I am glad to hear that it went so well. Now we will all be jealous because you now have perfect eyesight.

Plus you have China as an excellent stay-at-home nurse. What could be better than that?:D

Didn't really have a whole lot of choice....have my zoom on 200% just so I can read people's posts (which really screws up with spreadsheets since they aren't made to be at that magnification)

Here are some examples of what it looks like when you're looking through a cataract

I thought you were supposed to rest your eyes (grin), where is Nurse China? Those pictures, that's what it looks like with glasses? Shudder.

I'm glad cataract surgery was a success for you! My grandma recently had it done in both eyes on different days. She no longer has to wear glasses, which is odd for me because I have never seen her with no glasses on my entire life! :p Thank you for posting those pictures so we understand what it is like to have cataracts.

Hi Chris, I'm so glad your second eye went well, even though it took a while to get home. The LagoonMeisterin aka Nurse China had it all under control! Be sure to rest your eyes. Those pictures are amazing. In the "old days" cataract surgery required the patient to stay absolutely still in bed for weeks, with head held firmly between rolled-up towels.

Lots of vines!

Yo China, You are doing a great double job! I'm making dinner tonight at the lagoon.
