I don't think yesterday's PM cycle experiment was a success so back to using the R in both cycles, providing I am around to monitor Crystal of course.

Gave her 4.0u R this morning and she's coming down slowly. Will be out for a couple of hours at art class later this afternoon but back in good time to check her at +10.5 and DH is around to keep a beady eye on her.

Finally stopped raining here, hope it's made its way over the pond to areas in need.

Vines and wishes to all in need.

You are doing such a good job with Crystal. I know it must be hard at times to know how much R to use but you seem to be getting it right. Way to go girl.:)
Keep up the good work.

Andrea is correct - there's no rule book that Acros follow. You have to play it by ear and do what you can. Every shot feels like a guess, some more educated than others. You're doing well - hang in there.

I'm with the others, Suki. You're doing a super job with Crystal. And that's not an easy thing with an Acro kitty. *clap clap clap*

@pollydoodle , thank you Marilyn, I really appreciate your support.

Forgot to post at PMPS (oops) but Crystal was at 254 so I gave her a 3.75u dose of R. Her +3.75 was 178 so going in the right direction

Hi Suki, I really don't understand Acro, going to read up on it today. But the educated crowd above says you're doing a great job, so I'm really happy for you and Crystal.

Thanks Lori, there's a lot of info on this Board about acro and a great wealth of experience and support to call on. I really don't know how we would have managed without it, Crystal is the first case my vet has seen so she's pretty much in the dark about treatment and is horrified at the high dose of insulin that I have to give. But needs must, but it is a real bummer of a disease to try to get on top of, plus we think she has IAA as well, although I haven't been able to get the test done here. Not a great prognosis for her but I do the best I can in the circumstances.

Hugs to you Suki- You are writing history with Crystal, whether your vet realizes it or not, there are plenty more acro cats than many vets seem to think, I hope she is learning from you and she should be thanking you! Crystal is in the very best hands! I hope you are getting a good night's sleep!

Still blue at AMPS at 140, debated for quite a while trying to work out a dose of R, in the end I gave her 2.5u, paws crossed it keeps her just nicely surfing blue for the cycle but, knowing Crystal, we have to expect the unexpected!
