6/17/2019 Leoberry status - still with us

Leo is still with us. But he is still not eating as much as he needs to - in order to maintain weight. We are trying to make everyday as enjoyable as possible
- plenty of brushing and sitting with Leo
- any food he wants, mostly crunch, we have tried over 50 foods
- backyard time when he wants it
- "special" chaperoned trips to the front yard to see the world

Little Dude tries to horn his way into the feeding area every time. LD knows crunch is forbidden fruit. Since he had urine crystals last year, no more crunch for LD. Poor LD just doesn't understand why Leo gets crunch, but LD doesn't. The 2 little dogs get locked in the bedroom during feeding. I don't want Leo to feel he is competing for his own food.

For Theresa and I, we think quality of life for Leo is:
- ambulatory
- eating enough to maintain weight
- no signs of pain

Leoberry has been a sweet boy as usual. He is the Best Cat Ever.

Dear sweet Leo. You and Theresa are making each day count and keeping him comfortable. We are all with you in spirit, Jeff.

Both so very handsome and they are both in the very best hands, awesome mom and dad! Saying many more prayers
 
Leo is still with us today. Overall, he is in "okay" but guarded condition. He has very little interest in wet food.

Theresa and I appreciate all the healing vines for Leo, and Leo appreciates them too. Leo was a good boy today. He seems a bit weak. We are providing food at least every 2 hours - whatever he will eat.

Leo's day:
A.M. - BG fine (1am, 2:30am, and later), ~5.5 TB dry food...quite a bit
P.M. - BG fine, 1.5TB dry food so far
Weight is stable at 12.54 pounds

Theresa had the neighborhood bunco tonight at our house. Leo initially stayed with the crowd, then came to my study after 30 minutes to rest some more. In his healthy days he used to stay out with the party and revel in the attention.

Such a sweet boy! Your mum and dad love you, Leo! And the rest of us are sending you love too <3
