Yesterday's Powerless Condo
So DH got home last night and got the server back up, but then decided that my PC needed some maintenance, so he spent a couple of hours deleting files and cleaning up "stuff", and by the time I was able to get online, the Board was down!!
Glad to see it back up and running. It makes me nervous, as many others have said, when it's down, in case someone needs help. I was watching FB for that reason. The upside of not being able to visit condos was that I got several documents scanned and e-mailed that people were waiting for!
Meanwhile, back at Tricia's House of Chaos (love that, @pollydoodle !):
Cinco was all blue yesterday, but today he waded into the lagoon to coax China a little closer to shore while her bean was away from home. I believe he is now in charge of the BBQ, but I hope he has a "spotter" there to make sure he doesn't burn anything (including himself). With a huge anti-jinx, I am happy to report that we have had no more peeing outside the box for the past 24 or so hours. I got a response from my e-mail to the dermatologist that it would be possible for him to have a UTI while on an AB - Simplecef is used for some UTIs, too, but it might be a bacteria that responds to different ABs. I'm holding off on taking him in for now, but if the behavior comes back, off he'll go. Thanks to @Bron and Sheba for providing a link to some urine test strips. I ordered them and will be happy to have them on hand. Cinco is the easiest one to test that way, as I can tell when he's headed for the box and he can't see me sneaking up on him!
It would be nice to be able to use them on Minka, but would be much harder. All that darned fur.
Does anyone think that the AB could be raising Cinco's BG a little? I was just looking at his SS, and right after I started him on it, his numbers started going up a bit - he went green less often and for shorter periods. Just a thought (we all have to find a reason for increased BGs, don't we?).
Minka has had a decent day, appy-wise. However, today was weigh-in day, and both Minka and Sasha have lost a few ounces in the past week. I'm stepping up my habit of bringing them snacks throughout the day, and syringe feeding is still on the table for Minka. I wish I could get them to eat MaxCal, and that it didn't upset their tummies. I may try sneaking a little into Sasha's other food, but Minka will be harder to do that with, as she is very picky about what is in/on her food. Sasha likes the supplement NutriCal, so I'll start that every day for her, but Minka, of course wants nothing to do with it!
@Chris & China, your idea to put cat food in a baby food jar might work if I could find a way to make that popping sound that you get when you first open it. That's what brings them running!
Harvey spit up some tummy acid this morning, right after I gave him his morning dose of Pepcid. That came up, too. I gave him another dose, also in a pill pocket, which he ate, and he ate his breakfast in a couple of sittings. He's been eating well ever since. He looks and acts so normally most times that I keep forgetting he's sick!
Hope you are all having a great Friday. Will try to get around to catch up with everyone through the evening.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans
Special vines and extra hugs to @Wendy&Tiggy. Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Marje's DM, Chris's DM, Elise's DM and Molly's DM.
