In light of the fact that Walter is starting the day in pink, I had a hard time justifying a need to drain the depot - so I went ahead and gave him his regular 1.25 Us. :arghh: Let's hope that he will slide down a bit today. I will start with his reduced vacation dosage tonight.

He is also once again having hairball issues. Nothing like waking up to the sound of a cat about to hack up a hairball on your pillow, right next to your face. I think I might need that as an alarm sound - nothing wakes me up and gets me out of bed as fast as that.

I am about to head out to my volunteer shift at the shelter. Beautiful day to walk some dogs!

Sending lots of vines and light to all in need. :bighug:

Walter, pink isn't a good colour for you!
Have a good walk with the droolers! My son-in-law works at a Doggy Daycare and walks about 15 dogs at a time, a couple of times each day! He loves that job lol!

Here's what I found in front of the shelter this morning

: image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg a box of kittens! Someone dumped them over night. Poor little guys are covered in fleas and some have eye infections.

While it disgusts me at least they brought them to a shelter....now they have a chance for a good life. Walter...why are you confusing mama bean..you are done with those stinky pinks. Wonder if it was the hairball bothering him. Pretty sure I'd sleep though the house getting robbed but a cat hacking...yup will make you jump every time!

I am so glad the kittens are safe and not dehydrated from being overheated. I know we don't know the story behind why they were left at the shelter. I hope it was because someone with a kind heart recognized the kittens were in a bad situation, rescued them, and brought them to a place where s/he knew they would get the care and love they needed.

Poor little babies. At least they are now somewhere safe and they will be in much better spirits once the fleas and eye infections are dealt with.

:bighug: :bighug: to you for your volunteer work.

Is the taller one the mama too? If so, at least you all can spay her and that will be one less breeding cat on the street. Poor little munchkins. The black and white one looks like he might have herpes in that eye. I hope your vet is on top of that....many do not test it aggressively enough with Idoxuridine and also an antibiotic like olflaxin.

Down Walter down!

Well, I guess I will be the proud new foster mamma of three of those kittens. We are an all-volunteer rescue and all of our young kittens and puppies go into foster homes. Since we already have 50+ kittens in our system, all the foster homes are packed... and I somehow offered to take three of them. Someone else will take the other three. Luckily my friend Kristen (who is a vet tech) will take my three while I am in Germany so my pet-sitter doesn't have to deal with their medical needs. They will get checked out by a vet tonight.

I am pretty sure it is two different litters. One of the brown tabbies and the black and white one weigh a little over 2 pounds and the others are between 11 and 14 oz.

Now let's hope that they will all test negative for Leukemia!

Wowza. Said that they got dumped and have eye infections and fleas, but good that they'll be in good hands now. Er, congrats on acquiring three more kitties? :)

Walt, come down from that pink floor! You're confusing mama bean.

Congratulations, FosterMammabean!! You are a good person.

Now, Walter, Let's see some lower numbers. And hack up your hairballs in a more appropriate venue, please!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Walter, what's up with the pink!? Funny about the hairball hacking for your alarm sound! It's true, I can hop out of bed so fast when I hear that sound especially when they are on my pillow ready to hack.

The one little white kitty look like a Siamese. Too cute. Glad someone brought them in, or dropped them off. Sienne is right, we don't know the circumstances.

I can't count how many times my civvie Sasha used to wake me up with that horrible hacking sound - right next to my pillow. I became very adept and grabbing her and depositing her on the floor next to the bed before she actually threw up, without totally waking up! Then I just had to remember to watch where I stepped when I got out of bed!

Glad you're coming down a bit, Walter. The pink floor is no place for a handsome boy like you.

How sad about the kittens, but as everyone said, at least they are now in compassionate hands. Congrats on the new additions! You are a truly good person to take that on, with so much already on your hands.

Yes, she does! I am about to head back to the shelter to bathe everyone in Dawn and see what our vet has to say. Then I will be dropping my three of at my friend's house/their vacation home. Kristen and I figured that we would take the ones that are in the worst shape - the black and white one for sure and maybe the two little ones. We'll see. I'll post some more pictures later.

I am just glad that they are safe and will be well taken care of. I am glad that the people dropped them off at a no-kill rescue and that they picked a night where it was dry and not too hot. It would have been nice if they could have left some more information... but at least they are with us and not with Animal Control.

Party on at the yellow floor! Hey Walter, they are calling us from the blue floor.

What a heart you have Christina. The local shelter I worked at/volunteered at once had 12 kittens dropped off at the front fence, all in fishing cages. In late November. It had poured the night before. They must have known when the first person came into work and dropped them off after the rain and before the shelter opened. Oh, and they all had URI. What a "gift". Your fosters and the others are at a much better place now.
