Gordy is at the vet. He is having problems urinating suddenly. :nailbiting::nailbiting:

Please send him vines!

(Yesterday it was the car... today its the cat... i wonder what tomorrow's emergency will be.)

Ok, we are back. The vet examed him and his blatter wasn't full and she said his penis looks normal, so she doesn't think its a blockage. But she does suspect its a UTI.

He got prescribed Clavimox for the next 10 days. They told me to monitor him and if he starts displaying worse symptoms to call them. The vet said it could be a number of causes, stress being #1. At least the ABs will help with his acne a bit too. The pills are rather large, so I have to cut in half and use 2 pill pockets. =(

He also got prescribed/given a probiotic to sprinkle on his food. I like that the vet considered the fact that the ABs will screw with his tummy. So we'll be trying out Vetri Mega for a bit.

I think I lucked out with the office I picked... The vet we saw today is extremely familiar with FD AND Glargine. She has had 2 sugar cats herself!!! I think this is where we'll stay :)

Bummer on the possible UTI. It is best to do a urine culture to identify the bug, so you know you are treating with the right antibiotic. I hope the Clavamox helps him. Good plan on the probiotic, though human brands can also do the trick. Sending vines for a speedy recovery.:bighug: Great catch in a FD knowledgable vet!

Do you routinely add some warm water to his wet food meals to make a "stew"? Teasel was very prone to stress induced cystitis and the occasional UTI and since I've been doing that, not a single episode - over a year now. We were averaging a bout every couple of months at least.

I actually do. I water his food down already :( i hope it doesn't become a thing for him, this is the first case he has had.

I picked up a can of Fowl Ball to treat Gordy for the vet visit. He loves it too much LOL he some how snuck in and atw Rex's portion and she was sad :( so i gave her some of this FF broth I had picked up somewhere along my way. #spoiled

His BG is probably high from the pill pockets. And will probably stay a bit high because its my main way of pilling him.

He had a successful pee.
