    Yesterday's Condo

    Good morning.
So we are trying a feeding experiment to see if Chloe can bring her numbers down on her own as we saw yesterday with 3 drops of insulin she ended up staying pretty low all day.

Testing and feeding at normal shot time, then testing 4 hours later to see where her numbers go, will continue that throughout the day on a 4 hour schedule. Paws crossed. So far no vomit since we saw the vet and am continuing with the Cerenia the next couple of days.

Thanks Amanda. Now I need to watch for ketones if she doesn't eat that well. Put 4 different foods down for her and just sort of grazed. Yesterday was a good food day. Noy I am throwing out so much food. Even my feral outdoor cats wouldn't eat the expensive stuff lol.

Might help when it comes to analyzing the 3 days if you can enter the carb values of the food you are offering.
Nice drop with no insulin on board in 24 hours.

Thanks for the tip. Having a challenge calculating them since non are on the list. I have 2 methods. One is a carb calculator ap and kitty friend told me about and the other I take 100 and subtract all the other amounts like protein, fibre, water, fat and the remainder is the carb.
You have any other suggestions how to get an idea?

That’s not the way to calculate it, Randi. Wouldn’t it be nice if it was? You might want to read my post on Calculating % Calories from Carbs.

Another good resource is Tanya’s website for CKD cats. HERE are the USA canned food values but if you look there and don’t see the food, you might look to the left and check out the UK foods as there might be something there.

Let me know if you need help and I’ll be happy to do the calculations for you. I love numbers :smuggrin::woot:

And me being a CPA I guess I should be better at the numbers lol Marje. I will review the link when I get home later. I probably took some shortcuts and I will check Tanya's list again. Jennifer had told me about an ap called carb calc so I tried using that as well.
If not I shall be messaging you later when I get home and give you some homework for me:bighug:

Check out this number +36 85.
Not going to dance yet but I’m happy to see the Pancreas work. We are testing and feeding every 4 hours today and I sent a food list to @Marje and Gracie
Pretty sure she has been eating good quality low carb foods.
staying calm but pleased I’m not seeing crazy high numbers. It’s only the first day but I’m happy.
And she just walked upstairs to where I am sitting and wanted up on my lap. She hasn’t done that ina few weeks.
