Yesterday

When I went to bed last night, I was thinking we might have to be doing a dosecrease soon. Guess Harvey read my mind. No thanks, Mama. I's gots enough juice. Nice work, Harvey. Don't mess with Mama like that, please.:stop:o_O

He ate almost all his t/f/s meal this morning, but only about 1/3 of his breakfast...and as I type that he goes to his dish and starts eating.:p I do think the heat is affecting him. Paws crossed that he'll do better once we get the A/C back up and running.

He's been sneezing quite a bit this morning. He's also been pawing at his eyes the past couple of days. I noticed both his front paws looked dirty on the inside of the lower leg, and yesterday I took a damp washcloth to it. It came off brown, but didn't have a smell. After seeing him rub his eyes, I suspect it's that little bit of brown discharge he has that is getting on the legs. I guess I'll need to call the ophthalmologist and ask if I should be concerned. He may have me increase the lubricating gel I'm giving him. I'm guessing Herpes is raising it's ugly head, hence the sneezing. I've been giving him 250 mg of L-lysine a day, and I'm going to go to 500 starting today. Just what he doesn't want - more pills!:rolleyes:

I want to get my workout in before it gets really warm in here. I've already had to close the windows. It was lovely and cool last night, but the breeze died down and now it's warming up rapidly. :( This is not going to be a fun day. Come on, tomorrow!!!

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Extra vines to Elise and to Patti's DH. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yo Deputy Harvey, I hope you'll be feeling better soon. No more sneezies, OK? It's hard to sneeze in the water. Good job on patrol today. I'm a little bit closer to the beach than you, so we have good coverage of the lagoon.

I hope your weather gets cooler soon, Tricia. Are the fires affecting you? Hang in there!

Poor Harvey. Sending lots of vines for the eyes and sneezing. He's sure workin' that juice, though. :D

How's the pantry project going? Are you excited? Tomorrow you get AC (anti-jinx)!!!!

Are you excited? Tomorrow you get AC
Excited isn't the word for it. :woot: If I was better at math, I'd figure out how many hours and minute it is until then! Of course, they gave me a four hour window, so that would complicate matters.

Harvey's appy petered out as the temperature rose. I'm not pushing it. He ate almost the whole can, so I'm happy. He'll eat more tonight when it cools off...assuming it does. He's hogging my desk chair (I had to pull up a chair from the table to type this), snoring away.

How's the pantry project going?
It's stalled, as I knew it would be. DH only got the top shelf done and hasn't started on the second one. I don't expect any more work to be done before Friday night. He works long hours and this week has to go in to the office three days instead of his usual two. As long as he doesn't mind eating off TV trays in the family room, I'm not going to worry about it.
Are the fires affecting you?
None near us right now (knock on wood). That could change at any minute, as the whole state is dry as a bone and it's HOT!

We have a green PMPS! :D

Of course, because this is Harvey, he'll probably turn right around and head for the beach for the evening.

It was 105 here today. I managed to keep the house around 82 downstairs, which means it was probably about 90 upstairs. It's not supposed to get below 75 outside until around midnight. :arghh: DH and I may be sleeping downstairs, under the ceiling fan in the family room. Tomorrow can't get here soon enough.

The only one around here that's happy about the heat is my episcia. She says it feels just like home:

Hey Tricia....maybe you could send Harvey to me and I'll teach him how to put on the pounds and I'll send China to you so you can get it off of her!

Wonder if maybe he's having allergy issues with the A/C down? They do filter stuff out of the air as they're cooling it

Hopefully by 10:05am tomorrow, all your troubles will be over with!!

Yo Harvey....you wax the surfboards and I'll look cute...when you're done, we'll practice our tandem surfing!!

Tricia, I have been reading back through your condos...................my goodness! My family tell me I am a hoarder, but I think having looked at all your fabulous pictures, I am a minimalist! Great condos! Hilarious!
Saw where your DFIL's cardioversion didn't work. That is very disappointing for him.

Glad you enjoyed them, Bron. You have to laugh sometimes at such situations, or you'll go nuts. We had a lot of fun that night. Poor Shelly may need therapy, though. ;)

He knew, going in, that it probably wouldn't work, but I think he was still very disheartened. He's been such a fitness nut since he first got in shape back in his 30s, and it really bugs him that, in spite of all that, he's having heart issues now. He's 76 and in otherwise excellent shape, so if anyone can get through this, he can. They'll try again in 5 weeks. I forget the name of the drug they put him on - wait, Amiodarone. We're hoping for the best.

Harvey seems to be surfing in the shallow end of the lagoon tonight. Works for me. His appy was surprisingly good at dinner, considering how hot it's been. It was still 100° at 8:00 pm! :arghh: It's cooled down now, though, after 90 minutes. My phone says it's 84 out, but it must be a little cooler than that, as it was 82 in the house when I opened the windows a little bit ago, and the air that came in was cooler. Still, I think it's going to be a long night.

I can totally understand his frustration. I was on amiodarone too for 7 months. It is the strongest anti arrhythmia medication there is. I was told at the hospital that if you go onto amiodarone before you have the cardioversion, you have a better chance of success. I wish him well.

I'm loving the flatness today. :woot: Did you hear back from his opthamologist? I love how our kitties have all their specialists.

Paws crossed the AC repair guy comes the early part of those 4 hours and it's a quick job. 105!? :blackeye:

Looks like China and Harvey are going to spend a little time on the beach tonight....wonder what they're planning???????????????

I'll try to kick in a few bucks towards the bail money if they get caught.....LOL

What is the name of the lubricant drops?

Usually in people, you can use the lubricant drops as and when you need them, there are no adverse effects. And if he is having a herpes flare, it will certainly help keep him comfortable, will also help comfort if it's allergy issues, as both of those conditions can disrupt the tear film.

I'd be interested to hear what the ophthalmologist has to say:)
