I've never shot this low before....:nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting: I need someone to coach me thru what to do. @Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey I see that you are online right now. What do you think? I've not fed yet. Maybe stall and see if he is going up naturally at the end of his cycle?

Hi Jan. I'm too inexperienced to tell you what to do. Hopefully you'll get experienced eyes on this soon. I shot my lowest number tonight and I'm a wreck. I'll be around if you need to vent

I'm going to try and catch 2 hours of sleep as i do have to get up for work tomorrow. I will check in with ya in a bit, right after I do a +7 test. Looks like Red is checking your SS out.

Sleep well... I hope Beenie behaves and lets you get more than 2 hours of sleep. Thanks for being out there... :)

Hi Jan. Sorry, I had to switch to my desktop. The g h j k l do not work on the old laptop.

I can't stay up. Coming up to midnight here, and I have 2 hospital procedures first thing in the morning and I don't do mornings.

You have been doing an excellent job with Radar. The 5.25 depot could still be in play.

Can you stay up? Do you have HC, strips, chocolate? You shot the 5 units?

If the numbers start to drop too fast you can try to feed the curve. If the numbers get lower than you feel comfortable with, pull out the HC.

Thanks for the encouragement.... I really appreciate it.
I should go to bed because I have to work tomorrow.... but I have all the supplies needed....including the chocolate. And yes I shot 5 units. worried now that I should have reduced it although with the depot in play maybe it doesn't matter.... I'm just so worried. With the mirtazapine on board he will eat so at least there's that... oh and I have student assessments to look over and keep me busy.
Sleep and I hope you feel better soon. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's always a relief to get some food into them at times like these. There have been plenty of times where Jenks has been low, I've given a shot, and then he decides he doesn't want any food. Talk about stressful!
I had a cycle like that recently and it was super stressful.

Factoring in meter variance, a 138 and a 124 might be the same number. I think it's a little too soon to tell.
I think you are correct. I'm just worried and want to know right now what he's going to do..... I can't find my patience pants anywhere... sigh

just popping in because I got up for a minute....

looks like his typical nadir is at +3 +4 area.... which fortunately isn't that far away....

you know the drill....
if you ever find yourself dealing with really low and doesn't want to eat, you can pull out the big guns like ice cream, or whipping cream....
most cats can't resist a lick of that off your finger...

138, 117, 124 are pretty much just flat variances ..... same number .....
nothing to get concerned about....

hopefully he'll just dip those toes in the green and surf .... that would be great for him and for you....

Hi Jan!!
Great job on shooting:)

Dre is the team captain diver except.....when he isn't LOL
You know Radars pattern and your a excellent tester...no worries you got this:smuggrin:

I am sure you have all supplies necessary (including a adult beverage:oops:)
:bighug::bighug:
Thanks for the encouragement Jayla, I need it. You are probably right that I can handle this. I have a ton of data, but don't always trust my interpretations. And of course, Radar is a cat and therefore he will do something that I don't expect just to be sure he's got my attention. lol

I hear ya !!
I know Dre like you know your Radar.
I give a little hc if he starts dropping before his normal cycle. I always hope it will let us avoid the bounce but usually still bounces from the hc I guess.
It does seem to slow the drop for Dre tho.
But then again he is a cat and that could change in a nano second.
You have all the tools and data
You know more than you think you do :bighug:

OOOOOHHHH ice cream is a great idea for both of us and I actually have some in the freezer.

Thanks for the reassurance that the numbers so far are essentially the same number and he's not parachuting out of an airplane... hoping to keep it that way.

Often when youvshootva lower number they stay flat. Looks like that's what Radar will do. I used to feed a little cox with each test and went to mc if Max started to drop. :bighug:

Since I started giving Radar that supplement I think of as "Jayla's interesting idea" - Pancreas Booster - at the beginning of the summer, he seems to be much less bouncy except when he wants to bounce just for the fun of it. Are you still giving it to Dre?

I try to feed the curve as you suggest and have learned a lot this summer about how to be more successful. :bookworm:

Hi there

Looks like a PJ party in progress in this condo tonight :D
Saw the lights on so thought I'd stop by.

Brought some surf music-
EVERYBODY DANCE!

Thanks Sandy, This was just the pick me up that I needed. Radar is happily washing his face after his last snack... he's totally fine with or without the music :D

How's Beenie?
She's holding steady. Radar is keeping you on your toes.
C'mon Radar surf gently

From my quick review of Radar's SS, it looks like his nadirs are around +4 and +5, and that he's always back up toward the end of the cycle. Assuming he doesn't head too low in the next two hours or so, the rest of his cycle should be of little concern.

What % carbs did he get earlier?

He surfs best in my experience on 12% carbs so that's what he got.

You are correct that he "usually" nadirs somewhere between +3 and +5 so that's not too long to go. Although I've caught a few nadirs at +7. I just hope tonight is not one of those nights...

12% is a good number to try to flatten him out. If his patterns hold, the +3 should be the biggest drop, followed by a surf until he starts to head back up.
