I'm restarting prednisilone at 1/3 of a 5mg tablet once a day. Maggie's asthma has made her cough some since stopping it and she has started fighting the daily inhaler. Also, I was reading Lizzie's link on pancreatitis, and found that pred is sometimes prescribed to reduce inflammation in the stomach, relieving nausea and increasing eating. The past few days Maggie has been eating less and sometimes smells the food, licks her lips, and walks away. But she still paces because she is hungry. I know pred may increase the BG, but I'm hoping it will make her feel better.

Hubby's birthday today, so I'll be cooking steaks with blue cheese butter and roasted potatoes. Last night we met with some friends at a German restaurant. No wonder I'm pleasantly plump! ;)

Hoping the pred helps Maggie feel better soon and doesn't increase her BG that much. Happy birthday to your DH. Dinner sounds delicious. We went out to eat last night and when we came back Gizmo was very happy to see us. I didn't even realize it was almost 10 minutes past his TFS. :eek::facepalm: I couldn't believe that I had forgotten.
 
I hope the pred helps Maggie's coughing and appy. Hopefully it won't raise her BG, but dealing with her asthma trumps FD. You can always adjust her insulin dose. Sending prayers.
