There's something wrong with Radar... he is miserable. I'm so worried that when we gave him the bupe last night that we messed something up. He doesn't want to be touched. He's drooling and there's a little blood in the drool. He's holding his mouth weird and sleeps with his tongue out. He won't eat or drink. Usually he is the most docile sweet little guy and he's growling this morning. The vet's office opens in half an hour and I will be their on their doorstep when the doors open.

Definitely sounds like something related to his dental. Did he have sutures where the tooth was extracted? Could they have come out?

I've left Radar at the vet's office for fluids and pain management and observation for a few hours. Something is going on and I just can't handle whatever it is on my own at home.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, hugs and healing vines. I'll keep you posted on his progress.

Radar returned home this afternoon after receiving fluids and pain meds at the vets office and then being monitored for several hours. The vet is not sure what happened other than lots of pain and inflammation which got out of control and needed professional intervention. He also thinks Radar may have had a stronger reaction to the anesthesia drugs due to his age. There's also the possibility that a nerve became irritated in spite of the nerve block that was used during the dental procedures. They were very good to my little guy today during his visit and got his pain and inflammation back under control without charging me a fortune. :cat:

That horrible look that was in his eyes this morning is gone. He's behaving normally and has eaten several snacks without hesitation. He is now happily resting in one of his favorite windows.

His numbers have definitely been a secondary concern today... the vet gave him his current 5 unit dose this morning and then did assisted feeding. Today I checked him when we got home and he was 262 before I started giving him food. A little while ago at 2 hours until shot time I tested again and got 245. I'm hoping these numbers will help me at shot time tonight. I will update our ss once I've gotten some dinner into the humans.

Thanks again for sending all those hugs and good wishes today. They really helped me when I was so very worried about my sweet little boy.
