Yesterday...

The cats aren't happy about losing the cat door to the patio. They won't be happy about being confined to the playpens, either, but I hope I won't have to do that until later this evening. I had a lot of cheese in the fridge so I'm baking most of it into chips, then taking one last shower before the storm.

It's a good day for the blues Chino.

Thinking of you and the kitties today and tonight. Thanks for posting and letting us know how you are doing.:bighug:

After your shower (take your time), have a nap. You don't know how much sleep you may or may not get tonight. I'd make a big tray of chocolate brownies too. Good in a crisis. Sending vines that the day, the night, and the aftermath are simple and easy.

The winds are getting very strong and I can hear things banging around outside. I'm getting ready to confine the cats and move to the closet. This will probably be my last post until the storm passes. Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes. We will check back in when it's over.

Edit: I looked outside and it's just wind gusts, no sustained tropical force winds yet. We still have some time, though when things start getting loud, that's when I'm going to move the cats. Otherwise, I'll be dragging them out from under the couch or prying them out of their hiding places.

I can hear the structure around the sliding glass door creaking as the wind blows against it, and it continues to intensify, but for now, I still have power. Chino's BG was 270 at +2 :) I might have to move to the closet before the +4 check, but it looks like the storm is weakening and isn't going to hit as hard as we were expecting.

I hope you're right Adrian, I tried to reach out to my friend in Venice and no response...

193 at +4 :) This might be my last post for a few days. My laptop fell and the charger broke (the tip broke off of the plug), so I'm looking for a replacement but IDK how long it will take to arrive with the roads blocked/flooded.

When it rains, it pours ... maybe a wind gust knocked it over and insurance will cover it.

Ask around locally. See if someone has an extra charger that you can borrow for a short or long time. My kids' Facebook page is always inundated with emergency requests for a charger.

Save what charge you have left in case you need it tonight or during the surge. Stay safe.

And if you end up on this channel, do give a wave:
