Posting this on my phone so I have no format. This was a response to an email I sent requesting carb values. They said NFE is carbs. I'm not sure how the carbs match the spreadsheet, but proteins and fats don't.

The spreadsheet is based on "As fed" values for protein, fat, fibre, moisture and ash. What the company emailed you may have been calculated based on "ingredient" values as they appear on the cans unless you specifically asked for "As Fed" values. I'd go by the spreadsheet rather than the manufacturer.

I am not sure what you got from the company. I did some calculations on the Purrfect Bistro Chicken Pate and the numbers don't seem to match with either the guaranteed ingredients or what is on Dr. Pierson's spreadsheet. Interestingly, Merrick only supplied Protein and Fat figures to you when normally one would include fibre and ash as well after removing moisture content to do an "as fed" calculation of the carbs. My assumption is that Dr. Pierson got all the pertinent component numbers to do her calculations so unless Merrick has changed their formulation, I'd still be inclined to use the spreadsheet values.

Ok thank you

I've gotten the run around from Merrick, so I'd use the spreadsheet too honestly - I haven't bought any of their food yet, but I trust Dr. Lisa's interpersonal skills at getting info a lot better than I trust my own. I tend to be nice until it's time to NOT be nice - not that I rage, but when I put on the stern "don't mess with me please" tone, things don't usually go well so I'd go with her on Merrick, again just based on my own limited interactions with them. For some reason this company loves fighting me.
