My readings are on an AlphTrak2 meter so they tend to be 30-40% higher than a human meter.

Since having a flat reading this morning with his .25 u increase Tuxie has decided that he is going to do some diving tonight...(can't let Mom get to bed early now can we??)

I have been giving him his regular homemade food..approximately 1/8 (1 Tbsp) after his +3, +4. and +5 readings. Tuxie tends to have his nadir around +5-+8 depending on his mood :)

Should I be giving him some HC food to keep him surfing and prevent a bounce...which he seems to do everytime he goes lower??

I'd stick with regular low carb to help him surf. HC we save for under 50.

I am using an AT2 meter...wouldn't 50 be in the hypo range?? That would be less than 32 on a human meter using a 30-40% difference between pet and human meter readings.

We're all so used to dealing with human glucometers I think that sometimes our brains don't even register...our fingers just type what we've typed so many times before o_O

Thanks Chris...I am one of the odd ones out that is using the AT2 meter. That is why I try to remember to put it in my posts.

Oops, Chris is right. Anyway, not yet for HC.

Thanks Wendy..I have double trouble...I think in Cdn terms...mmol?l and pet specific numbers...so I have to do double think to give the right information and ask the right questions....which gets REALLY interesting when I am exhausted..lol
