Happy New Year, Everybody!

Basil starts the day with a very respectable 116.

He was hungry this morning, but also let me know he is tired of Cowboy Cookout. I think that may be best, because he eats what he needs, not what he feels the urge to pig out on.

Since we are sticking with the dose for a bit, should I stick with his food amount, too? When is the time to cut back the amount?

kinda hard for me personally to say when to cut back, you could try entering in ur SS the + hr time slots when he eats to get a better idea..keep a bit of track record of it see if it gives ya food spikes soon after..

Basil 's AMPS is pretty thou!

Thanks, everyone.

I was a good girl and did read that yesterday! :) I should have been clearer today. (Haven't had coffee or a shower yet so I plead temporary insanity :oops:). I should have asked if I do all that NOW, or am I waiting to do that with a dose change? IOW, I worry that making a change now affects the way the numbers look and confuse the issue.

I will start trying to see when he eats and noting in the ss. I have a pretty good handle on how many calories Basil is eating within the range of the variation in varieties.

I'd let Basil guide you. Once you know what his "normal" calorie intake should be, you know how much food he should be getting once he's regulated. That's the goal to work toward. I don't think it's necessarily an issue of waiting for a change in dose although much of how you feed and whether it effects BG is a matter of trial and error. One way to experiment would be to add one snack/mini-meal and see if it has any effect then keep making additions so you can evaluate how it's going.

So, how do we feel about this? Can we wait to test a bit? He tends to stay flat at +2 and +3 but if you think we need some numbers, we'll get them!

I'd like a +2 or +2.5, if you don't mind. I think he'll keep surfing, but this is lower than he usually is at this time so might as well collect the data and be sure. If he is angling for a dose reduction then he might surprise us.

Consider it done! I'd like to go for +2.5 just because he seems SO steady in this time range. Now, he will make a liar out of me!

Basil really is getting into this dose. How cool are those numbers! Keep surfin' Basil, the water is warm for ya'.

I love it! How do YOU feel about it?

Still surfing, I think a before bed test would be a good idea, whenever that is, and make sure he has food out before you go to bed. Looks great, though. :)

I feel GREEEEAAAATTTT! But then, I'm still somewhat mystified about exactly what to hope for!

We'll get another one or two tonight. My son will be up late. (He's 25 and good at this and knows how to update the ss and to post here.)

We'll leave food and I'm sure he'll snarf it immediately.

First of all, I'm 24. But that's a detail that Basil chooses not to concern himself with.

I just tested at +5.5 and he was 104. He had a LC snack at +4 and another just now, which he happily ate.
