Yes, it's Saturday and I'm off!!! :-D

WCR: Moses is a bit sluggish today (so am I, trying to build a better sleep routine for us). I have noticed him getting random spurts of energy and want to play. I love those times b/c they're so spontaneous and they get me out of whatever I'm working on to enjoy the big picture of having fun with a kitty I love. vs work work work.

Anyways, I'm not sure how much testing I'll do today. Truth is, I am trying to reserve testing strips. I know it's always good to know what his data is, but I also find that it's not good for us to always try to know everything about every day. It's just too much for the both of us.

So since he's experiencing a little NDW, I think the data that I would gain could be a bit skewed for future decision making. I can still get the crucial hours today, I'll get a test in at +6. But I think it's a good idea to chill. Moses does too, as he points to his bloodless right ear needing refuel time. Ha!

Morning Erica...you and Moses have been through a lot in the past few days for sure...
so it's nice that you can relax together on your day off! Enjoy! :-D
(but glad you will be getting the important tests just to keep an eye on him...he is really into this sugar dance....)

Moses and you have been doing great Erica!!! Yes I like those days where we can just chill and enjoy our furbaby time. He will have a chance to refuel that ear ;-) It is exhausting checking the time and having to test again yet being scared of what the results may be.

*Question: I noticed Moses' insulin pen sitting out this morning :sad: I must have forgotten to refrigerate it last night after I used it. Did I kill the insulin? It looks like its worked all right today... What do you think?

Moses has been quite the boss lately. A little sleepy and a little spurty (spurts of energy). His PMPS wasn't as low as last night when I shot (I was jealous of your BOS Paige! j/k). But, it seems when he's in the blues he could drop 100 points by +2. Maybe that's when I'll do his next test.

I have yet to get a PMPS +6... maybe tonight? I have to wake up and go to work tomorrow, blah!

I think if you look on the box that the pens come it, it says you do not need to refrigerate. I think Monique wrote about this on the old Board in the Think Tank -- it made traveling for human diabetics much easier since the pens, once opened, didn't need to be refrigerated which is a big change and/or advantage from other insulins. However, humans go through a pen a lot more quickly than a cat -- different size doses. I suspect the insulin is fine since Moses is getting a response. I would simply put a note on your SS about having left the cartridge out. If you start seeing the Lantus poop out before you expect it would under other circumstances, you'll at least have a clue as to why.

So, I decided to not go test crazy during the day... I think tonight's a different story! ha!

Moses has been quite bossy today. I've now learned to cup his treat in my hand as I give it to him, b/c if I use my fingers to set it in his mouth slot then I get hurt. His sharp needle teeth get me. He gets pricked and I get bit.

He also! Yanked my hair today and would not give it back! Literally, I bent over and he grabbed a (somewhat tangled) section and gripped! I tried pulling back and he'd just pulled down. I thought maybe his paw was stuck, but as I tried to loosen his paw, he only tightened. I think he's trying to say "I'm still the boss!"

But anyways, I wanted to add that I love ending my day with an OTJ video! I think I'll watch Velcro's again. Although I'm feeling the urge to test, I'll probably still be up at midnight, which is rare. I shall return!

Yes! Moses and I got our first midnight PMPS! Time for bed.

It's weird that his nightly peak is at +3. Huh? Goodnight! I-)
