Yesterday's Condo
Today is designated as Gabby's birthday and you are all welcome to celebrate with us. It is a designated day since Gabby is a 'pound' kitty and we don't really know her birthday but for a reason very close to my heart, we chose Valentine's Day. Many of you have seen photos of George -- my mutant calico male. When George adopted me, I was also adopted by an orinch girl, Gracie. On February 14, 2000 Gracie crossed the Bridge very suddenly due to an arrhythmia. And four months later, Gabby insinuated herself into my heart by chewing on my shoelaces and chattering at me incessantly at a local shelter. Gabby possesses many of Gracie's qualities (shy around strangers, as sweet as can be with me) and it just seemed like Gracie's spirit was passed along to Gabby. Even George accepted Gabby with one single hiss and they then became fast friends. So, today is Gabby's day. Gizmo has begun providing the entertainment with his Speed Racer imitation complete with bouncing off the furniture. (Although Gizmo is already whining that he wants his party, too. His first birthday is on the 17th. There's gonna be a lot of celebrating around here this week!)
