holy smokes! I fed mocha three times this morning, nothing unusual and so I felt it safe to go to town for a 1/2hr. Got back home and decided since it was lunch time to test her and feed her. She read 23 on the meter so I instantly gave her HC gravy, almost all I could get out of the can. I will re test in 15 minutes

I know the feeling when you get a number that low. Keep testing and let us know how she's doing.

Ok, back up to 50. She is getting a little more MC right now, but as long as she sits here or goes higher, she'll get LC from now on.

And yes, did I ever freak out! I never would have thought she would drop so hard in 4 hours. She was acting fine, ate her snacks without any major hurry. I left for a 1/2 hour to go to the pharmacy came home and saw that. After she got her first bit of HC gravy she started meowing something fierce, but I dont know if that is cause she just loves the gravy or because of her number. So I gave her a little more HC gravy and she settled down long enough for me to collect my thoughts and wait to re test her. Got a 41 which is much better and fed her MC. Retested 15 minutes later at her +5 and got 50. I think my heart is calming down now! :lol:

Whoa, I wouldn't have expected that either! Good catch. Keep testing for a little while longer to be sure she stays up.

Things are changing for Mocha, she might need a full 0.25 reduction this time instead of the skinny. Let's see what Jill thinks...

Wow. Any possibility our kitties are on the computer while we're not around? That drop seemed very Gabby-like. Great job managing the numbers!

thanks everyone! I will be interested in what Jill has to say as well. I know we are seeing a lot of greens and blues for miss mocha, but at this point, do you think we should be seeing steady blues and greens? I mean, she was over 400 yesterday, and dropped to 23 today. She is so unpredictable. Not really regulated, right?

I don't think you can assume an "at this point." You are comparing Mocha to the other cats on the Board and I bet you are not comparing her to the longer term kitties. Both Mocha and Gabby are similar in the tenacity of their livers to pump out glucose. If you compare our two cats, we're in about the same place. Compared to say, Paige/Webber, we're laggards. Remember, ECID.

yes, you are right sienne. I often see similar numbers in mocha and gabby. I hope they both start showing us some good solid steady numbers before to long.

devon, i know you've been successful with shaves, but i think a drop to a 23 requires a quarter unit reduction.
this new cartridge may be more potent than the last one.
congrats on the reduction... and mocha, we want to see you hold it this time, k? :-D

ok everyone ... we will be doing the full .25 dose reduction tonight. Since she isn't so high right now, Im guessing rebound will show in the morning. I hope she doesn't sky rocket!
