Hello! The five P's are: poop, purr, preen, aaaaand ?

Moses is good, ha! I heard that he was wailing today when I was at work :sad: Like a child cries for his mother, is how my parents described it. Like long, drawn out wailing. Around noon, his peak.

Anyways, I'm home and he's happy. I'll go give him a rubdown now :mrgreen: It's only purring for you now, Moses!

Good luck with tonights cycle. Moses LOVES his mommabean. Funny, my chocolkitty whines when he doesn't know where I am. It's like "mom----where are you? Am I here alone?"

So Moses is still acting and behaving great! A happy kitty!

But I'm feeling confused about his latest +3 of 150. This is supposed to be his peak at night and he went up 10 points. Two days ago on the 2nd, he was 15 points higher at this time.

I feel like we're losing progress. Is this accurate?

*Another Question: Moses is not a typical treat boy. It's very hard to find something he likes (a bite of a bagel was his favorite pre-diagnosis). Anyways, he looooves Greenies. I give him 1 Greenies treat after every prick he receives during testing. Sometimes he leaves with 1 treat if it took me one lancet try. Other days he could get 6+ (serving) treats if I had trouble getting blood and it took several pricks. I will give him another if the injection went poorly, but that's rare.

My question is, are Greenies bad for him? He could be getting anywhere from 3 to 9 a day. It's what makes testing times so pleasant. He purrs the whole time b/c he knows he's getting it. I'll have to look up the nutrition to see the carbs, but he loves the crunch. I've tried all the freeze dried stuff, whether lobster, salmon, chicken and he doesn't touch it. Any other suggestions that are crunchy?

Whew, I'm rambling. I just want Moses to continue to get better, not go in reverse. :?

I don't hold the answer to your exact question, but I'm pretty sure that greenies are full of carbs!
I started giving Tizon some wellness jerkies or the freeze dried fish or chicken from Walmart. All meat, no flour... I keep the flour for the mamabean! I hope this helps.

Ya, that's what I was afraid of, Greenies = high carbs. He just doesn't like that freeze dried stuff. I have to find something crunchy so he'll look forward to testing...hmmm... :?:

my opinion is that if he really loves the treats, give them to him at test time, but keep the quantity small. Moses' numbers are soooo good. Or you can try going without for a day and seeing if the numbers change much.

That's a nice simple experiment. Thank you! Greenies for the meantime but I'm on the hunt for a similar LC treat!

Greenies are HC.

What about chicken breast? The Wellness or other kinds of jerky treats are a very different texture than the freeze dried stuff.
