Good morning. So tired.. ~O)

Today Webber is getting a dosecrease to 0.25 and from the looks of his AMPS I hope we don't have the same scenario as the other dosecrease (dropped to 33). But I am prepared that he may have a little carry-over. So I will be getting a +1 and +2 and go from there.

WCR - Webber is running around and making his usualy playful noises (I can't describe it) We finally had some LB action last night so we are happy! He wasn't too interested in breakfast so I had to sprinkle some flakes....he was asleep when it was time to feed and get shot ;-) He then ate a little, but if he keeps running around like this and doesn't eat I anticipate his BG to drop. :-x He will eat when he gets hungry or when mommabean freaks out

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 Dosecrease

Very nice numbah to start a Caturday off with. Fingers and paws crossed that he gives you a nice flat surfin day today with the dosecrease. Sounds like he's a very happy kitty this morning

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 Dosecrease

Good morning! Get some rest today.
Very nice AMPS #, today is your 1 month of consistent shots & mine will be in about a week
Looking good, good luck with your dosecrease & take care of momma too!

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 Dosecrease

Thank you both. I wish I could go back to bed but since I have told myself (you hear that? I talk to myself, LOL) I am going to get a +1 and +2.....well lets just say I will get a nap later. :-D

(((((Nicole)))) thank you for reminding me that it has been a month. Feels like 6 (totally kidding). WoW!

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 Dosecrease

Wa y to go on the decrease. Looks like Sami might be following in Webber's foot steps. Hope you have a great day.

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52

After I got the +1 I was worried that I might have gotten a fur shot :? but I guess not  I think Webber boy is going to keep me awake for another few hours. ~O) ~O) ~O)

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52

Webber sure is determined to march down the dosing scale isn't he? Probably true that this cycle is still reflecting his previous dose, but as I mentioned last night this kitty doesn't bounce...a VERY good sign for 'you know what.'

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52

very nice for Webber, he sure wants to have his own party.....I think it's safe to start shopping for a bikini or whatever. Let us know when we should put you in touch with our agent about getting your new condo ready at the ............ :-D

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49

Sienne

I think there was one PM cycle the other day ;-)

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49

Look at this boy go. Amazing! He really does want his very own party!!!

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 New Syringes

Well shux. ohmygod_smile I called Sam's Club Pharmacy, Target and Walmart and they don't have the 1/2 unit mark syringes. Any other suggestions to call? I may just have to get out of my pj's and go look myself. Walmart was the only place that even knew what I was talking about LOL.

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 New Syringes

I thought for sure Walmart would have them. Any other pharmacies in your area?

Edited to add: If Walmart is close, you might want to go take a look at what they have anyway. Maybe they have them and don't realize it since it doesn't actually say 1/2 unit markings on the box.

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 New Syringes

I think that is what we will do. Or DH will do :-D

I printed out the pics from the pictoral guide sticky.

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70

Look at Webber go! I hope your smile is grand!
Fabbbbbuuuuullllloouuusss!
I'll let the other peeps from the US of A help you with the syringe supply question.... us, Canucks don't have a very good selection.

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70

Most of the pharmacy chains don't carry the half unit syringes -- at least not in my area. Walmart was the one place that did. You might ask how soon they can get them for you. It might be a day or two. Alternatively, Hocks ships very quickly.

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70

Hi Paige - and Webber!

Another super-duper day for your boy - I tell ya, he's just itching to go OTJ! ;-)

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70

Thank you all for cheering on my boy!! It warms my heart. Sometimes it brings tears to my eyes (lack of sleep+stress+hormones can really mess with you)....

He seems to be doing some beautiful surfing today at 70 :thumbup

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 +8~70

:thumbup Go Webber! He needs to start his own surfing school for the other kitties. Tess is looking for pointers.

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 +8~70

Are you sure he doesn't like vegetables with all that green going on???

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 +8~70

Ella - haha_smiley

I am actually really nervous about tonight. DH and I are going to be across town to watch the UFC fight and we will be leaving at +1 time. Thankfully he did not have much carry over from the shed with this mornings dosecrease so I am pretty sure he will not drop too much while we are gone.

This will be the first evening since we began shooting that I will not be here to monitor during the first 4-5 hours into a PM cycle. I know that sounds extreme, but we just don't get out much of late and I am a tab bit overprotective (ya think? ;-) ) I know we ALL are here in LL. That is why I feel so "at home" here.

I know that he will be just fine because he feeds himself in the 40's. Can I just ask that all of our other sugarbabies in LL look out for Webber tonight?

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 +8~70

awesome cycle (again!).

I'm not sure how/when you're feeding Webber, but I'll share with you the strategy I used with Lucy as she was racing down the dosing scale. At this point, we're trying to give him as much time on insulin as we can, so his pancreas can have maximum healing time before we remove the training wheels. Even though it seems counterintuitive, it's good for Webber to actually try to *prevent* him from earning dose reductions, if we can. For Lucy once she got to this stage, I made a point of testing at +2. If the number even looked like she might be thinking about going to the 50's that cycle (if she was already dropping at +2), I went ahead and fed her more LC food then, and tested again at +3, and again fed if she was dropping, etc. If despite the extra food she still insisted on dropping below 40, then she won and she got the dosecrease (Lucy was a below 40 kitty).

Others here make it simpler by just automatically dividing the regular preshot meal into 4 portions and giving at PS, +1, +2, +3. In other words, keep the food coming during the first part of the cycle, and if he still drops then he really does need the dosecrease. Actually it looks like Webber often drops before +2 so you might want to get that first test at +1 and start feeding if needed. Just an idea!

Re: 2/6 Webber AMPS=73 +1~73 +2~52 +3~49 +4~70 +8~70

Thank you for sharing that info Libby.

I have LC food available at all times. All of the kitties including Webber grze. He just does choose to feed until he gets into the 40's. This morning he go feed at 49 (which made me happy). The problem with him his he is just not a big eater and if I were to leave the food in front of him he would not eat it if he had it his way until he got hungry :-|

I really understand about not wanting to earn dosecreases at this point. I don't want him to either; I do want him to be here for as long as possible for as much healing as possible.

Should I try to syringe feed him if he starts to drop to the low 50's?

Tonight since we will be out should I leave out some MC food?

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=pending QUESTION

MC food wouldn't be a bad idea if you're going out.

My cats free feed too, but I'm lucky in that Lucy will always eat if I put food right in front of her (so I would put a teeny bit of food on a plate and deliver it to her - yes, my spoiled princess got room service when she had low numbers!). I could also get her to eat even if she was stuffed just by sprinkling some chicken dust on the food.

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=67 QUESTION

I got my syringes at walmart - call them again and ask if they can get a box in for you. and how long that would take.

How about CVS or Walgreens? Or even your local supermarket - does it have a pharmacy? Maybe they have something in stock.

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=67 QUESTION

MC food -------I cannot find any info on carb content of Science Diet Gourmet Beef Entree . I guess it is high and I can mix that with the LC?

Edit - Oops I see it on Janets lists. It is high. So mix half and half?

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=67 QUESTION

I know I would personally feel more comfortable if I left out MC food in this situation. I say this never having experienced anything remotely close to the numbers Webber is showing...so take my two cents with that understanding.

Webber and you are just amazing. Everyday I look forward to seeing what the great Webber can do!!!!! It is so exciting visiting this condo.

Re: syringes - I was able to get mine at a local, independently owned pharmacy, but I doubt if you have any around they would be open Sunday, but maybe? We also have Krogers (grocery chain) and they had a generic 1/2 syringe we used when he was first dx.

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=70 wish stable #'s

Okay here is the plan. Fed LC with chicken sprinkles at shot time. Webber ate as good as he ever eats. Before leave @ +0.75~+1 I will feed some MC. Mixing HC Science Diet with their usual LC.

We won't be home til probably +6. I will test before we leave.

I am shaking nailbite_smile

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=70 +0.75~58 Wish for Stable #'s Please

Wholly caw Webber! Has not even been an hour and he dropped 12 points. Left out MC and had him eat right before we ate. Just hope all the other kitties don't eat it all. Lol, don't really think that will happen.

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=70 +0.75~58 Wish for Stable #'s Please

MC foods--Elegant medleys Fancy Feast--ones with egg souffle are higher, but the chicken tuscany is definitely MC..
He is really responding so well here!!
Do you have any old HC treats like Temptations?/ they also bring numbers up quick when you are in a pinch..
Paige cats Will eat when they feel themselves going low..I know Exactly how you feel--Can you stall till +1.5 or +2??

Re: 2/6 Webber PMPS=70 +0.75~58 Wish for Stable #'s Please

((((Roni)))). Bless you for making me feel better. Unfortunately we are already on the orad. I'm posting from my blackberry. We couldn't miss this evening and I feel awful. We left night after he ate the MC.

Got home just in time for a +7.5 Lots of food still out. See you all in about 4 hours.
