I was so encouraged by yesterday's blues and even a green, and now I'm disappointed by today's yellows - even though they are low - and a blue. My patience pants don't fit very well. Perhaps I need to have them altered.
Cinco is otherwise doing well, although he has developed a disconcerting habit of only eating a couple of bites of his first breakfast (the one he gets at shot time), and leaving it alone until it's time for his second breakfast, at which time he cleans both plates. DH has tried adding kitty krak, and more recently crumbs of FD salmon, but Cinco just doesn't like to eat when he first wakes up. Yesterday Mark woke him and put him in the lb (because his pattern is to eat the two bites, then head for the lb), left him while he set everything up, and then did the t/f/s routine - Cinco still wasn't terribly interested in eating. Mark said all Cinco wants is to go potty then go btb. So far this lack of adequate food on board at shot time doesn't seem to be affecting his BGs, but I don't think it's a good thing. Unfortunately, Mark can't hang around and do a plate chase to try to get him to eat more. I guess if I'm really concerned about it, I could haul my lazy rear out of bed and do it.... :YMSIGH: Should I be concerned?
Sasha is doing a little better. Today I think I got everything right. I gave her the bupe, then the ondansetron and pepcid as soon as I woke up, then 90 minutes later I brought her breakfast, of which she ate all but one little bite. An hour later I gave her the Clavamox. About 90 minutes ago I offered her a snack with some SEB in it, and she ate it with enthusiasm!!
So now I have to successfully repeat the process tonight (and tomorrow, etc.). I'm just glad she's finally eating a decent amount and doesn't seem uncomfortable. She hasn't hidden in the closet once today!
I was tackling a long delayed project of cleaning out some of my drawers today, under Sasha's watchful eyes. It' s been ten years since I quit work, and I still had two drawers full of nylons! I can count on one hand the number of times I've worn them in the past year - people just don't dress up in Northern CA. So today I finally sorted through them, threw out a LOT of knee highs that were so old the elastic was disintegrating. As I worked, nosey Miss Minka came and crawled in the drawer I was working on. I didn't think much of it, and when I had all the nylons sorted and distributed elsewhere, I filled the empty drawer with something else. I was about to walk away when I decided to check and make sure no stray knee highs had migrated to the drawer below (I still had some unmatched ones). I opened that drawer and there was Minka, curled up and half asleep!!!!
There's no telling how long she would have been stuck there if I hadn't opened that drawer! There is no way to get out from under the bed (it's a pedestal with drawers) except through the drawers or a door at the end that's closed and blocked by a cedar chest. She didn't appreciate being removed from her cosy nest, either.
I have more drawers to clean out, so I'm off to get back at it, hopefully without furry helpers.
Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:
