Thank You very much I will certainly do thatPlease see my Commercial Food page - the Contacting Companies section.
If you are able to get the information, can you please pass it along to me? Things are so bad in my life now that I have to go without eating to make sure my furbaby has his food, insulin, needles etc. I’m so scared that I will have to rehome because I might just be homeless myself.Thank You very much I will certainly do that
So sorry to hear this and I can certainly relate to your delema. If I ever find the information I will certainly post it. In the meantime just use the Special Kitty Turkey and Giblets for every chart I have found shows that as the lowest carbs. Kim, I would recommend that you copy this message, start a new thread in the Main Forum http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/forums/feline-health-the-main-forum.28/ with a title such as "What brands of food are best? " and paste the message. More members are going to see your question and give your some input. Our cat was already getting Friskies and 9 Lives wet food, in addition to dry. We transitioned to Fancy Feast Classics and Friskies pate, with baked chicken breast and bone broth.Reviewing the food list...
How does anyone make a decision with so many options out there?!?
Currently feeding my kitty (Rho) Science Diet m/d dry but it's crazy expensive, and I'm now wanting to switch him to wet.
He is not picky, and I don't want/need to feed him the cheapest food out there. I was fine spending $25/mo on a bag of quality food before he had diabetes.
What are the top 3-4 brands recommended as a starting point?
It’s on the chart. Look in the b’sAny info on BFF Best Feline Friend?
Just posted aboveDoes anyone know if the Tiki Cat numbers are correct, specifically the Bora Bora Luau? The protein and fat percentages look switched when compared to the other flavors, so I was wondering if it was perhaps a typo or an odd outlier! Same as well for the Gourmet Carnivore line?
Excellent! Ty! I figured it was low carb since the rest of Tiki is. Cc loves the after dark line. Except quail egg. None of my cats are digging the egg. LolHere is some info on Tikicat and their new lines..View attachment 38238 View attachment 38239

Hello all,
It has been awhile since I have visted the board but I wanted to let you all know that I have been working many hours over the past 3 months to update the protein/fat/carb/phosphorus food chart. Here is the new link: http://catinfo.org/docs/CatFoodProteinFatCarbPhosphorusChart.pdf
If the old link is used, it will still go to the old chart. I can't seem to get the re-direct to work but I will keep working on it.
Over the past year I have had several people ask me when I was going to update the chart and my standard reply has been "when hell freezes over or pigs fly"....given what a incredibly time-consuming nightmare the chart is to compile.
But...in Dec of last year I decided to tackle it again and the new chart is actually twice as long as the old one. This PDF is 63 pages long and the old one was about half of that. If anyone prints it, they will kill a lot of trees. Plus, I don't have a printer-friendly (removing the shading so not so much ink is used) version available yet.
Users of the chart will also notice that I put a request for donations at the top of the chart for TLC Cat and Kitten Rescue so that homeless cats and kittens can benefit from the gazzilion hours I put into compiling the thousands of data points contained on the chart.
Regarding updating the sortable chart - that will not be done since someone else did that I and I do not know how to set one up so what is there will just have to be enough. There will also not be a chart for ascending phosphorus values like there was before.
You will also note that I streamlined the chart and removed DMB data. Only ME (calorie-basis) values are shown which is the best way to look at food composition.
And, finally, keep in mind that the numbers on the chart are VERY loose so don't get neurotic about whether a food says 7% carb or 10% carb because they are virtually the same number. Due to the way carbs are figured, a food that states 10% carb content could even be 0% or 2%. Food compositon numbers are just not that accurate.
I hope that the new chart is of help to all of you.

I have a question regarding your cat food diet. Why do you use Lite salt and not regular?

Thank you Doctor for the update! Sadly, we had to send Woody on ahead last Wednesday, but it was due to bowel lymphoma, NOT his diabetes. I donated to your link in memory of Woody.Hello all,

Looks like there is a new Fancy Feast coming out. It's called Gourmet naturals "grain free" and has many pates. Seems like this may be good for diabetic cats that are FF addicts like mine!
Hope they are low in phosphorus to! That’s a problem I’m running into, not that many are under 300 phos AND low carb ...oh and pate. Mine only like pate style. It’s killing me, I’m paying $53 every week because all I can get in the store is Pro Plan urinary tract health turkey and Giblets that meets all the requirements. My baby has FLUTD & diabetes ( and 2 bad teeth that I have to somehow get removed)I was looking at these and want to try them but need to know the carb content first! They look promising.![]()

I've only just tried it out, but one that I've found would be the Koha rabbit au jus pate (it is a part of their limited ingredient stuff). I'm going to try to include the spreadsheet I got from them here, I got this from them this past February.Thank you Dr Lisa! My cat can only eat rabbit because of allergies. Do you know of a good wet food that is low carb rabbit only?
Calculated the carbs for the new FF "gourmet naturals" in gravy and they seem to be very low. Calculated the same new lines Pate cans and they are way higher. A little suprised cause with regular FF the pates are so low. With this new line the gravy cans are better. Which is great but hope I am correct!
I think my carb calculation is correct they are gravy but very low. It’s their grain free line and supposed to take the place of the grilled stuff they all love so much. My cat likes it and his blood is good so I think it’s fine. Like the royal canin line for diabetes has gravy but is low. He likes it but does now act like a total crackhead about it so I think it’s fine haha. He flips over the grilled FF.
I got a coupon for a free box of fancy feast cans
How did you get the coupon if I may ask?![]()
