Good morning. Lily is 73 at +2. She is eating her +2 mini meal now and I will check her again in an hour.

That is quite a drop at onset!

 

It is. I am going to recheck in 3 which is just a couple minutes

 

Meant 30 min. And I did and she dropped to 63. She is eating more of her mini meal and I will recheck in 30.

 

I’m so happy to see the green. Are you feeding mc food? You don’t want her to fall under 50 so fast. So higher carb food is needed.

 

I have some ff with gravy that I will feed her . A couple teaspoons?

 

Yes and I would start checking in 20 minute increments. We want her surfing blue and green to keep her healing.

 

Have you gotten another reading since +2? We need to see the bg before you feed each time.

 

She was 63 at +3.

Sally, can you update the SS and the thread title? Easier to track numbers that way rather than read through the thread. Saves us time when we have to respond quickly. Thank you

OK. I would give her a spoon or two of LC now and test again in an hour.

Lily is 113 at +4.

 

She will be okay and you can take a break from testing.

 

Thanks for our help. I will retest at 1:00 +6. She got a little annoyed with me yesterday testing every hour! LOL. She is running and hiding under the bed today.

 

I just got back. Ie been scared to go to the market with Covid at an all time high here so went at 7:30. Groceries put away. Let’s hope she doesn’t go up much from the hc. I’m sure you both will enjoy taking the afternoon off. Good job this morning shooting. Thanks Bhooma for your help.

Btw, did you post in the Health forum out of force of habit today? You would get more eyes on your condo in the forum Lantus forum. So if one of us is not there somebody or the other will be there to guide you with low numbers.

 

Think you can wait later to test. Especially if she is hiding from tests. @tiffmaxee, think it's safe to take a break till PMPS? Or better to get one more test in?

 

I’d stop testing and wait until PMPS. She won’t drop under 50 today.

Are you giving a treat after each poke? Something yummy and 100% protein? Max got freeze dried treats or a shrimp to get him used to fluids. The first time I gave them he ran. When he got his special treat he waited for me to get it.

Yeah! Lily will be relieved. I will go to the store then! I try to give her a treat usually but she won’t take it. I will keep trying though. Would be nice if I didn’t have to run her out from under the bed.

What a drop this morning! Great job monitoring.

With that drop, Lily may well bounce. That said, given Lily's propensity to drift downwards later in the cycle at times - even after the switch to mini meal feeding - just to be on the safe side it might be no harm to check her BG somewhere between +6 and PMPS (assuming she'll come out from under the bed!).

While it would be preferable to see her somewhere a bit closer to Planet Earth, it's good to know she's in a safe range.
