Logan came through the surgery ok. They said he was groggy but doing well. They got biopsies of his liver, stomach, small intestines, and pancreas. We should get the results early next week. They said his liver was a little yellow but they were expecting that. We went ahead with the stomach tube since they said it may be a couple of weeks before they start treating him. Hopefully, we won't need to use it.

His BG was 323 after surgery - nothing moves his BG!!!

I'm doing ok, Nancy. Sitting in that waiting room is so depressing, though. It's heartbreaking to see some of the animals that come in...reminds me that our situation could be much worse.

Sending lots of positive thoughts & healing vines your way. :YMHUG:
Logan is safely out of surgery & you'll have your answers soon. I know your decision was difficult. How long before he comes back home?

Please take some time for yourself. Have a big fat chocolate bar...or a glass of vino...whatever works. You've earned it! And of course, please keep us posted about both of you.

Hi Kelly
I'm glad to hear Logan is out of surgery.
Praying for you and sending as many warm and healing thoughts from freezing Montreal.
We are all here for you. Not as good as sitting with you while Logan was in surgery but you can count on us.
Please continue with all of his updates. :YMHUG: Big, Big Hugs.

Will you be able to see him later? I imagine he will be a lot better tomorrow than tonight though...glad the surgery went ok...been thinking of you guys all day.... ((Kelly)) You know that it was probably much worse for YOU than it was for him...right? He was sleeping and you were sitting there waiting...and thinking...

You must be exhausted...hope your night goes well...
Sending healing vines for Logan boy....and wishing you well Kelly.....

Whew, what a relief it must be to you. I know I'd be freaked.

It's great news he's out of surgery and on his way to recovery.
I hope you get good results when they're available.

And that BG, it figures! I thinks some kitties hang on to their BG like it's gold!

I also hope that you can have a chance to sneak in and see him, even if just for a minute. I am sure it would do both of you much good.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It was a rough day. We dropped him off at 8:00 and they said the surgery would be around 11 so we came back at 10:45...and waited...an emergency came in so he got bumped until 1:00. The surgery took a little over an hour. We wanted to go and see him tonight but they said they prefer that owners don't visit the day of the surgery b/c it gets the animals a little too excited, usually. So, we won't see him until tomorrow. We're hoping he can come home by lunchtime. The DH2B is going to work from home if he does...I'll have to go back to the office, though. Stupid job. I'll call them in about an hour to see where his BG was at PMPS.

Very glad to hear that Logan's surgery was successful and he's recovering from it reasonably well. Sending good thoughts your way for both a speedy recovery and good pathology results!

It is good to hear someone can be at home with Logan tomorrow; I am sure Logan will feel much better when he's in his familiar surroundings.

I suppose it must be true about the animals being excited to see the owners and I guess it could cause them problems or pain or something. Still, I'd want to do a little peek, even if just from a distance. Ah well, it won't be much longer till Logan's home again.

Thank goodness it's over for now and my fingers are crossed for good BG numbers.

FWIW, Gabby had a major abdominal surgery after ingesting dental floss. They opened every part of her GI track to find the stuff. Her recovery was remarkable. Any human would be moaning and groaning, not eating, etc. She was home in 36 hrs. She wasn't a happy camper but within a few days she was pretty much herself. I hope Logan recovers in much the same way.

Glad the surgery went ok. I've been thinking of him all day.

Will he be coming home with pain meds?

Oh, and he'll probably need a hard collar. If you have one already, bring it along when you pick him up tomorrow. Otherwise, they'll send him home with one (and probably charge an arm and a leg for it!)

I'm relieved to hear that Logan did well in his surgery. I hate when one of my kitties has to spend the night at the vet, but think how happy he'll be to get home tomorrow. Continuing to send good vines...

Aww, glad that Logan is finished with the surgery. I know you miss him and it's really good that DH2B can be with him when Logan comes home tomorrow.
I hope things go really well and his healing is as easy and as quick as possible. (((Hugs to you)))

I'm glad that Logan is out of surgery and is doing well. Sending healing and good luck vines your way.

So glad it is over for you and Logan. Hope you can rest tonight. I know the stress is terrible but you need to rest so you can take care of Logan. Snowflakes, Reiki, healing vines to both of you.

I'm so glad that Logan is out of surgery and will be home with you tomorrow. It is so nice to have them home again.
Sending fast recovery and good test results vines to Logan.
((((((hugs))))))

Sending Healing Vines & snowflakes to you & Logan!!Hope he recoups really quick & you get good results00You are in our thoughts! HUGS!!!!!

Thanks, everyone! Logan and I appreciate all of the good thoughts! When I spoke to them shortly after PMPS, they said he was resting quietly. He was at 348 when they tested him.

I went to dinner with some girlfriends so I was able to take my mind off of it for a little while. One of the servers dropped a tray of calamari by our table - I ended up COVERED in sauce...it got my jeans, sweater, coat, purse. At least our meal was free!

Have a great night, everyone. I'll let you know how he's doing tomorrow.

Oh, someone asked if he was coming home with pain meds and yes, he is. Buprenex, I believe.
