Me podrían aconsejar qué hacer?

Translation to English follows:
My cat is almost 16 years old and started vomiting and wasn't receiving food or water. We took her to the vet to see what could be causing her discomfort, and the vet told us it was most likely kidney failure, since when I touched her, I could feel her kidney was swollen and she was dehydrated.

During that time, they did blood tests and an ultrasound to check her kidneys. The ultrasound showed she only has one kidney and that she's "tired." Her blood tests came back clear, except that she has mild anemia. She was hospitalized for two nights and refused to eat. They gave her to me because she most likely didn't want to eat because she feels stressed from being confined and the other animals.

We went to pick her up, and she arrived home very active, moving around but having difficulty walking. She's lost weight where she hasn't been eating. During her stay at home, she's only had a small amount of food, and no longer feels nauseous, but I'm aware she has some reflux and seems a bit sick. It's worth mentioning that she's been home for approximately 30 hours. She arrived active and affectionate, but she's been declining again.

Could you advise me on what to do? I don't know if she has a life expectancy at her age :( It makes me sad to think about it. I've tried to find information, but I feel like the vet wasn't very clear about it.

I would appreciate your help.

Hola @Kaathy

Hello @Kaathy
This is a forum for diabetic cat, not for cats with kidney disease. Did the vet mention anything about elevated blood glucose values? If not, there are better forums for cats with chronic kidney disease. Although we do have kitties here with kidney disease, it's not our expertise. Check facebook page associated with the felinecrf.org website and on groups.io.

Did the vet give her fluids? Did the vet say anything about you giving her fluids? She needs to eat and drink. She may need an anti nausea drug like ondansetron or Cerenia or something to help her appetite such as Mirataz. The vet should be able to help you get those medications. Difficulty walking could be low potassium which means a potassium supplement. Talk to the vet about that as supplementation must be done carefully.

If her conditions are treated properly, she may improve. But don't delay, cats can't go long without eating enough food.

Hi Katty, sorry for my late answer, I haven´t been around the forum much I hope you girl is a bit better by now,

I already gave some comments in the private message you sent me, but to help people here in the forum, apparently the vet told her there was no obvious problem with her kidneys they seem ok just "tired" which doesn't make much sense but it is not clear if the vet mentioned diabetes it appears she has a mild anemia but there isn't much more information

Katty I would say for now and until you have more information the most important thing is for you to get your cat to eat, at this point it doesn't really matter what food as long as is cat appropriate food because cats can't go with out food for long periods
