Thomas is doing well this morning. No poop yesterday or today yet. He was sleeping in my brother's room, he must've been sleeping well because I couldn't get him to come to eat by any noises I made in the kitchen. Had to go and call for him which woke up my brother but he got up from that. My brother and everyone at his place of work is working from home now due to the virus, they're talking about lay offs though.
His ear didn't bleed as easily this morning, had to poke 3 times. Guess I should've massaged it first. He also wasn't very happy about the testing either.
He did eat well, he hasn't been pigging out and eating all that I give him lately. He's just been eating 1/3 to 1/2 then comes back later and eats the rest. Guess that should be a good thing considering I'm still trying to get him to lose weight.
Hidee still isn't eating her food. Apparently she'd rather starve herself. She acts hungry but puts her nose up at anything I give her, even chicken. She's gonna make herself sick. I don't know what's going on with her. She's always been picky but this is to the extreme. I've tried all the flavors of the food we have. Not sure what the issue is.
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday.:)

Wow, look at that AMPS. Just incredible! Thomas is demonstrating a fine example of what a Lantus curve is suppose to look like! Fabulous!!:D:cool:
I hope you have a great day:)

It sounds like Thomas J. is feeling good, that's great to hear!! Sending hugs and more poo vines your way...:)

If Hidee acts hungry but won't eat, she could be nauseous. I've heard of people using cerenia or ondansetron but you could get more info by posting in Feline Health. I hope she starts eating soon. :bighug:

Have a good day Brittany!! :)

It does sound as if Hidee is nauseated. Both cerenia and ondansetron are anti nausea meds. Don’t let her go more than a day without food without doing something about it or you will have a bigger problem on your hands.

Here are some tips to try for a cat that's not eating.

Do you have any parmesan cheese? If you maybe sprinkle a little of that on her food, she will perhaps eat? usually ondansetron is better for nausea than cerenia but it doesn't hurt to give her the cerenia....it can help.

Can you finger feed her....either see if she will lick food off your finger or will she let you dab some on the front of her tongue or on the roof of her mouth? Just be careful that it's only a small amount and that you don't get it down her throat.

Here's some info Jill often posts when a kitty won't eat:Here are some things you can do do entice your cat to eat:

-sometimes in order to get a cat to eat you even have to resort to dry it is more important that they eat. there are a couple low carb / grain free brands -- EVO and wellness core.

-making a buffet to give him choices
- heating food

sprinkle food with :
- forta flora -- a probiotic you can get at vets or online. is very smelly and cats love the taste of it.
- parm. cheese
- smashed crumbles of dry food
- Purebites Duck Liver -- crushed and put on as a topper.
- bonito tuna flakes
- halo chicken treats -- crumble into dust over food
- poor a little water from tuna in water over food ( I use low sodium/no sodium added as other kinds in water has veg. broth in it and I assume that means onions, which are toxic to cats-- check labels)
-powdered oregano. yep sounds weird . but some cats like it and it will entice them to eat.

other ideas of foods to offer your kitty to stim appy:
- trader joe tuna for cats
-baby food -- beechnut turkey and broth or chicken and broth. they have no onions or other additives. some babyfoods have onions . please read labels if you can't find beechnut.
- kentucky fried chicken
- deli turkey /chicken
- plain cooked ( boiled or baked ) chicken breast
-canned chicken for people (watch the label that their are no onions)
- chicken broth -- low sodium

It looks like Thomas J has had enough of all this testing nonsense! Great numbers! Next thing be watchful of another drop below 50...which means he's on his way to healing and could be headed for you know where...and that's a great thing!

You're doing great! I hope Hidee can be tempted to eat a little something soon ... poor thing...

Hidee finally decided that she would eat this afternoon. Gave Thomas a break from the super frequent poking I've been doing for a couple of days but still keeping an eye on him. Of course as soon as I wanted to buy the relion meter and strips they're out of stock. I'm getting a bit low on strips, still have a bit left but wanted to stock up on some cheaper ones. Should've bought them a month or two ago.

The large packs are out of stock but the 25 and 50 count are available. Unfortunately no shipping is available and not available for in store pickup so I'd have to drive down and see if they're actually there or not while the store is busy. We're going to be doing a grocery pickup so I could check then. Actually, I wonder if I can put them on my grocery pickup order. Wish me luck.:)

Thomas pooped again. Just saw it when I went to switch the laundry. Looking a little more like his normal sized poop but maybe slightly larger. I had headphones on so I didn't hear him if he was meowing but considering he didn't meow in pain with that monster poop I think he was fine. I also looked at his bottom again, it doesn't look torn or anything. Thankful he was able to poop, let's hope for more regular pooping everyday again.:)
