After surfing along nicely last night, looks like China's taking it easy on the beach today!

Now it's just a matter of what she has in mind tonight!! Be a good girl China!!

Had to leave to take DM to the neurologist that deals with her sleep apnea and then when we were ready to leave, the high school in town had their Homecoming parade and they closed down the main street through town and there was no way to go, so we just sat in the car and watched!

Good news though...her BPAP is working better to keep her apnea at bay than her old CPAP was so the doctor is pleased.

Now we just have to live through Apple Festival this weekend!! For one tiny town of 1200 to explode into 30-40,000 for one weekend is a major shock...especially if you live here and need to leave your home for any reason! I'm so close to the square where all the booths are that if I leave, I won't find a parking spot within 5 miles of my home! It's going to be a bigger one than usual this year too, I think...can't ask for better weather for an Apple Festival! Highs around 66, clear blue skies ....great parade weather!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday and that all you along the coast that might get impacted by Joaquin stay safe and warm. Glad to hear it's moved away from a direct hit, but it still could be a very wet several days!

I love the hurricane reference guide.

I hope China gives you another nice, safe green surf tonight.

Wow on the apples festival. I hope you don't have to leave for any reason.

Good luck with the Apple Festival this weekend.
Great hurricane chart......where do you find all the pics you post!
China....a few people need ropes to get them down from the higher floors if you are available!

Think lagoon tonight China, but no deep diving please.

Sounds like you have an amazing apple festival. The small island where my parents live has one too, but a big crowd from off island would be around 500.

Great news on DM's doctor visit, and a parade as a bonus.

Rusty looks like CAT 3 in the brisk winds we are having (unrelated to the hurricane). The Apple Festival sounds great. I love to try the different varieties, especially the old ones. They are harder and harder to find. We have some really good apples in NY State. We eat an apple a day every day of the year.
Glad to hear that your DM's sleep apnea is under better control. Did she enjoy the parade?

Have a good apple weekend. We are heading to The Big Apple on Sunday (at least that's the plan so far).

Yo Deputy China, Keep a close watch from the shore. I'm back on shore this evening, too.

Well, at least you are close enough that you can walk over and enjoy the festivities!

We have apples here, too, in the hills east of Sacramento. From Labor Day till Christmas Eve, the mongrel hordes descend upon the apple orchard there, and on the weekends it can take an hour to go a mile on the roads in that area. There are pumpkin patches and Christmas tree farms there, too (and wineries ;)), so the crowds are even worse before Halloween and Christmas. The larger establishments have craft booths set up, and we get a lot of Christmas shopping done there. Going to Apple Hill on a fall day is a tradition for just about everyone in the Sacramento area and beyond. It's just too bad they all try to do it at once!

China, I hope you weren't waiting for Cinco to join you to head down to the lagoon today. He was lollygagging in the woods. Tonight looks more promising, however, so keep an eye out for him, please. You two behave!
