Morning Anne :coffee::coffee::coffee:

WOOT! no alpha reads this morning Hyde. That is awesome! Think yellow, 'K? It's a great floor. Mannie used to spend alot of time there.

Yay on the Lev!

Enjoy your day today!

Woot! Go Hyde! Pink is my fourth favorite color for you. ;) Nice and easy today, ok? Don't you go bouncing from this. I'm keeping my eye on you...

Pink is good for now Hyde but sure do hope you start coming down a little more. Think you'd really enjoy the blues at least. I've heard Levemir is the new "lantus" and it has a lower PH. What is your main reason for switching out of curiosity. Sorry if I may have missed it in an earlier condo.

We are switching because, for Hyde, the Lantus has a nadir of +4 or +5. I am hoping that the Levemir lasts her a bit longer. Also humans say that Lantus stings at higher doses. She is getting 15u BID and she does not flinch or avoid the shot, I am hoping that the Levemir injection feels better for her.

I hope so too...:bighug::bighug: Thanks Anne

We've always used Lantus here, but Polly did feel the sting when we got up to the 10U mark. Had she stayed at high dose, I probably would have switched for her comfort, too.

Nicer start today, Miss Hyde. We sure would like it if you could make these lower numbers even lower, though. I know, we're a pretty greedy bunch.

Marilyn and Polly

Much better start today Hyde!

Neko sometimes purrs through her Lev injections, she never did that with Lantus and we got up to almost 9 units. Besides the possibly later onset/nadir which can be helpful, some IAA (insulin auto antibodies) kitties see a marked reaction in changing to Levemir. Not all, but it's worth a try.

Many of the high-dose kitties have responded better to Levemir - apparently by being pH-neutral, it doesn't sting as much as human diabetics have indicated. Some diabetic kitties are much calmer on Lev as well.
