Yesterday's confusing condo

Having trouble figuring out where her nadir is now that we are getting closer to the right dose and maybe just about overcoming the insulin resistance. I cannot determine if her "curve" is flattening out or if she is bouncing. She had a nice surf in the yellows last evening.

Hyde - did you hear that @julie & punkin (ga) said if we do not see blue, that there is a dose increase on your horizon ;) You better get crackin' and work that juice!

As she gets more juice and gets better duration, timing could indeed be later for nadir. Or it could be one of the fun things about IAA, where the antibodies are randomly grabbing and releasing the insulin - which produces somewhat random nadirs. On Levemir, I've seen Neko nadir anywhere from +5 to +15, though it's most common from +9 to +12. And her antibodies are theoretically (I hope) gone.

And you asked yesterday for thoughts on the increase - definitely. Until you start seeing a lot of green on Hyde - keep on marching up in dose. The antibodies bow down before lots of green, but until then, they are feisty little critters.

Hyde sweetie - how about another nice low PMPS tonight?

She listened to you!!

Due to a meeting at work that ran late, rain that made the later-bus-than-I-usually-take run even later, and the fact that DH decided to break his 3 month hiatus from running after work on a night that it was raining, Hyde's PMPS BG and shot were an hour late. Given all that, it was still yellow! I got in the door after t/f and before shot. DH confirmed that he should give the full 23u, which I thought out of character since he had shot the same PS value Saturday morning without commenting, questioning or even waking me up!

What a night!! I guess tonight will be a +1 and +3 at the least and will decide when to test again based on those tests!

Feels great to be seeing progress!!:joyful::joyful::joyful:

Another possibility - you could build the R dose into both am/pm doses so that you don't have as big of a depot if the iaa breaks. I know we talked about that a while back and am not sure if you have thought more about it or not. It means 4 shots a day instead of 2, but if the iaa breaks there isn't a large depot that you have to be concerned about. Suki's really become the master of this technique and could probably offer some helpful advice if you are interested.

Echoing everyone's comments here, great to see some progress for Hyde. I would recommend using the R more frequently on the days you are able to monitor, perhaps during the PM cycle too.
