I would stall, don’t feed and test again in 20 mins. Post the result.

81 @+30 minutes. Should i shoot him if it continues to rise?

He's very hungry and very loud about it

That is a much lower number than you have shot before. Your next lowest number was 130.
Your choices are to shoot the full amount, shoot a reduced amount or skip. you would still have to monitor if you gave a reduced amount.

Do you have plenty of high carb food and honey, test strips and are willing to test the entire cycle if needed? How do you feel about the options?

Hi. That’s basically the same number providing for meter variance. You have not shot a green number before. You might be in for a long night of testing. If you stall longer the bg might go down so you need to make a decision. I can’t stay with you if you shoot and need help. I’d probably skip.

I see. Bron has answered you while I was reviewing your ss. Hi Bron.

Hi Elise... I hope you are doing ok in these difficult times.
I agree you can’t stall much longer as the BG will go down. I will be around off and on but can’t stay all the time sorry. Up to you but may be safer to skip because not sure how many people will be around.

just had 80 at 45 minutes out. I think I'll stall out the rest of the hour, then shoot him with 1 unit. I did a similar reduction on the 20th (when I ultimately shot a 101 with 1.5).

I have honey, plenty of strips but the only HC food I have right now is some kibble I never opened.

Sorry I missed that 101.. My bad.
Ok. I’ll try and look back in often.
If you need high carb food you can add honey to low carb to get high carb. It will be absorbed faster than dry food. Make sure you pick up some high carb food soon for next time.

got another 80 at an hour out. Fed him and administered 1 unit (down from the 1.5 he was on). I'll be watching him closely these next few hours, fortunately I have a homework assignment that should take a while tonight so I'll be up anyways.

Thanks so much for the advice!

    I’d get a +1 and a + 2 to start with.

137 @+1 from administering, but that likely has a food component to it.

Just checking to see how it’s going. I’d get a +3.

113 at +2.5, so he's dropping a bit, but still acting his normal self

With the SS, you need to put all the information you have in the +1 box into the +12 box stacked up on top of each other as it was all taken before the insulin dose. Does that make sense?

How is he going? Any more tests?

Fixed the SS. He seems to be doing fine, he typically sleeps around now anyway (but was chasing treats after I woke him up).

I just got another test, 102 at +4.

I'm going to get atleast one more before I head to sleep.

For tomorrow, should I shoot him with 1.5 to keep on that dosage?

Yes, back to 1.5 units. He hasn't earned a reduction yet. And now you have data for shooting lower green.

107 at +5. Seems like hes not going down much more, so I'm going to head to bed.

Glad I shot him, thanks for the help everyone!
