Sheba came off the bounce during the AM cycle yesterday and had a nadir of 70.
PMPS 104. Nadir 68 and had a long surf in the lagoon.
MC food fed during the drop with both cycles to slow it down; all given between +3 and +6. Details on SS
AMPS 377 this morning. Not sure why so high. Maybe too big a drop in AM cycle yesterday between +4 and +6. I hope she doesn't bounce again.

@julie & punkin (ga) I had a look at the video of punkin online, and I saw there were several others there on U tube as well of him. You are lucky to have the videos of him. He and Anya obviously loved each other. He was a gorgeous boy. I agree.........it is a shame kitties don't live longer. I miss all my cats who have gone. I had 2 who lived for 21 and 22 years. I got them at the same time as kittens (one Burmese and one Tonkinese) and they had a wonderful life together. I actually bought the Burmese girl to breed from. She had one litter but I found I could not let the kittens go to just anyone, so I ended up giving them away to friends who I knew would love them and I didn't breed any more. She is the only cat I have bought from a breeder. All my other cats were either rescue cats, or turned up at the door looking for a home. We lived in the country for many years and my DH used to say there must be signs along the way for cats saying 'good home this way!'

My grandma lived in the country too, and i think all of her pets came because people dumped them. i can't even fathom how a person thinks who could do such a terrible thing to an animal. Fortunately my grandma was a soft heart and she cooked for her dogs and cats, so they made out fine with her. Yours were also lucky to find you! My in-laws had a cat make it to 21 - eating dry food too.

I think it's like in the early 1900's when hobos marked houses as being friendly to them. Somehow the kitties sense that a kind heart lives there.

That's sweet of you to watch his videos - it's like admiring someone else's children, lol. They're always more wonderful when they are your own!

Have you scrolled down as you look at Sheba's ss and just looked at the colors? You can see the tremendous progress she's making. Best of all, she's holding the reduction to 5.5u and still seeing several hour stretches of greens after a week. Looking good.:D

Of course there's a sign!! I have proof!

See? There are the instructions right there!.....LOL

I was bringing stray cats and dogs home from when I was a small child! I can't bare to see an animal in need.
We had one white cat that turned up in need of a home and I fed him around the side of the house for a week before my husband said he knew I was feeding a white cat around the side! We kept him and my DH named him Damn Lucky because he said he was. He loved me to bits and protected me fiercely. If I spoke loudly to the dogs he would attack the poor dogs and once he scratched the horse's nose because he thought I was cross with the horse. I had to be so careful what I said. The dogs were terrified of him.
Yes I am really happy af Sheba' progress

Sheba is looking great. But you must be so tired! The big drop yesterday AM could have caused the bounce - sometimes the start of the bounce can be delayed a cycle or two.

Great conversation on lost and found cats. Of course everyone here is passionate about kitties. Rescue kitties are the best. :cat: How did you get Sheba?

@Wendy&Neko
Sheba was a rescue cat. I had lost my 21 and 22 year old cats not that long before and I had previously had a silver tabby I loved to bits who had also died but a few years before that. So I went to a shelter looking for a silver tabby. Maxie was the silver tabby and Sheba was there as well....scared as could be...and hiding. She had been given up because the small son in the family kept poking her in the eyes.
Don't people discipline their children any more??!!!
Anyway ..my gain.

I must pass that sign on to my BF, she's just had her third kitten dumped outside their house - I truly believe the French drive past, open the car door and throw the kitten her way (she has 6 cats now) they really think the English are a soft touch for any homeless animal (which we are, but someone has to be). Our neighbours were most put out when we declined their suggestion we take in a donkey that was requiring a new home and we said no, unbelievable.

Sheba's lucky day when you rescued her from that horrid child.

Okay, call me a beotch...but kids like that need a smack upside the head.
@Lori & Lulu
Yep!
One of the first things I taught my kids and my grand kids is......'you must be kind to animals' and I won't tolerate any unkindness at all.
Sheba completely trusts my grand kids and just lies in her bed as they race around. She knows they won't hurt her. But she was very wary in the beginning, poor pet

Yes I love that sign. Chris always comes up with great pictures.
A donkey is a bit different to a cat!:eek:
I can't understand people who dump or are cruel to animals.
Poor Sheba was so frightened when she first came here...she hid for a week. Nothing worries her now...except a trip to the vet!

I think the vets are universally hated by cats, one of my previous cats Oliver, who was also diabetic, would get himself in such a state as soon as he went in the car, vomit, pee and poo all before I'd even started the engine - he just knew something bad was going to happen. When it was his time to pass at the grand old age of 21 I had the vet come home so that he didn't suffer any undue stress, and cuddled him all the while. One very special cat, just like Crystal.

My other cats didn't seem to mind the vet visits too much. They tolerated it and didn't get too upset, compared to Sheba, who turns to stone and pretends she isn't there. Won't acknowledge the vet at all or make eye contact. My dogs used to shake!
When it is time for them to pass I also try and have the vet come to the house. One of my dogs who loved to eat was eating a biscuit when he was given the needle so he knew nothing.
I think we need to change the subject!!:rolleyes:
