Hello all in LL land,

Just started another R trial with Crystal at AMPS. will be posting regularly and paws crossed all goes okay. Not much usually happens in the first couple of hours, but you never know. Have been having some problems with my SS but Marje has been absolutely brilliant and sorted it all out for me, what a star.

Hope you are all enjoying the additional day's holiday and have something nice planned, apart from extra kitty snuggles!

I don't know anything about R, but it doesn't look like it had much effect. Unless, of course, Crystal would have gone through the roof without it! I hope she comes down to some reasonable numbers for you today.

+5.5 is 268.
@Tricia & Cinco, the R doesn't usually kick in with Crystal until about +6 and generally brings her numbers down into blue - at least that's the theory! This is the first time I've done it during her AM cycle so it's all an experiment but it beats staying up all night monitoring.

Recap on today's figures

AMPS 324 + breakfast
+1 351
+2.5 322
+4 288
+5.5 268 + mini meal
+7 261 + teaspoon food
+9 259 nadir?
+10 290

Well, not quite sure what to make of these numbers, a bit disappointing with the 1.5uR as I was hoping for better numbers, but at least she has come down into yellow from yesterday's all pinks. This is Crystal's first trial in her AM cycle but it seems to me as if she does better with R in the PM cycle, typical, she just likes me to stay up all night with her. I'm at home all day Wednesday so might give it another go then. Seems well in herself, has been outside most of the day laying in the flower pots sunbathing. Grateful for any thoughts/comments on today's experiment.

It'll be interesting to see whether there is any effect in the next cycle.

This time you gave 1.5R with her at 324. Previously you gave it when she started at 248. Most people develop an R scale based on the blood sugar value at the time of the shot. It could be that Crystal in the 300's needs more than Crystal in the 200's. Just an observation, not advice.

Hi Wendy, thanks for looking in. Yes may be she needed more than 1.5u. All good data gathering though. PMPS was 329, wait and see what happens in this cycle.

She probably hasn't onset yet, maybe that before bed test will be going down.

I know Suzanne go to the point where she was doing R with every shot. With practice you'll get enough confidence to go there too. Paws crossed she ditches these pinks ASAP.

Even if you didn't get the numbers you were hoping for, all trials have value for the data they provide. I've never used R but can imagine, with ECID, it will take some trials to get the calculations right. You said it:
All good data gathering though.

Sending vines that the trials find the magic dose sooner rather than later!

I'm also noticing that today's amps was about the same as yesterday's, but today with the help of the R, she went to 260ish as her am cycle nadir and yesterday it appears she didn't get below 300.

Wendy is exactly right. The R dose depends on how high the BGs are. That's what a scale does. If you want to try on Wednesday am and she's over 300 at that point, I'd try 2uR and see how much it moves her.

I think what we're seeing today is that the R actually moved her down to about 288, and the Lev started its action at that point instead of at 300+, which allowed it to work a little better and bring her down around the 260 at her nadir today.

361.8 at AMPS.
@Wendy&Neko @julie & punkin (ga) Thanks Wendy, Marilyn and Julie for checking in. Feeling a bit frustrated by her resistance. Going to sit down and draw up a table of her past R results later this morning to try to work out a dosing scale, but I think it's a good idea to go to 2u if she's over 300 at PS tomorrow as you suggest Julie. I think I am going to have to use the R much more frequently than I have been in future but obviously only when I am around to monitor. Bbl.
