Sly ended his eventful day yesterday with a poop  And started today out with a nice, but much less dramatic number.

The vet yesterday commented on his coat feeling better already in just the week we've had him. Today I feel that. He feels nice and silky today.

The first night Sly emptied his water bowl twice, that's about 3-4cups of water. Granted he had the constipation issue going on But now I don't even see a noticeable decrease in his dish most of the time. We water his wet food down and that's enough for him. Great progress Sly Guy!

Yesterday, I guess I didn't understand that Sly had been on insulin for a long time and he was just changing homes. It is good to see that he had a good day yesterday.

No problem Tina. I don't have a lot of the details from his 2 months at the shelter to fill in to make a better picture. Sly had responded differently to the diet change than the last 3 so it looked like the original plan was going to be fine. ECID and the way things are going, it looks like that plan is going to show to have been too aggressive for Sly and we will probably be back down to 2.25U soon. One of the reasons I am on this forum, feedback and seeing all the different situations is so valuable. The more we learn, the better we are able to help the next one!

I LOVE this!
But we are just too busy right now to be chasing a cat down the ladder so fast Sly!!!! Last night was the first night in a week and a half I got more than 4 hours of sleep, I got 6hrs :coffee:
As much as I hate to, Jason is going to retest and we may reduce tonight. This next week is crucial crunch time for me at work. We might need to drain a little shed to feel comfortable leaving him alone.

The funniest thing is I expected to take the rest of tax season transition him off of his food he "just wouldn't give up". He won't touch that stuff. He sees a dish of his wellness and he runs for it :joyful:

eta: Jason opted to BCD a bit tonight and only give 2U. Hopefully we don't throw him out of his great progress, just flatten him out a bit.
