woot, day 3.:D You got the petsafe 5 feeder? Oren never lets a bite go unfinished, but I also always thin his food w/ water so its more soupy, and he laps it up. hardly anything ever left in the compartments

Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/4-30-elizabeth-day-2-otj-trial-ambg-131-pmbg-85.137121/

I tried the automatic feeder for the first time last night, and it worked well! I think the shape of the feeding dish makes it hard to get at the food - it gets stuck in the corner. Any advice?

:D:cat:

We have that same problem. Sammy will eat from it the auto feeder, but if there is food on a plate right next to the feeder he will always go for that first. I have even seen him circling the auto feeder trying to get a better angle at the food.

Congratulations on day 3!

Congrats on day #3!

All of our cats who have used the Petsafe 5 eventually figure out how to get their food out of those corners  ChrisFarley will work to make sure no crumb is left behind, its part of his workout plan. :p Since we've often needed them because the cat is too fat and piggy to free-feed, we usually add some water to the food too like Tina&Sammy and that does help.

Congrats on day 3! So exciting!

Ann/Tess puts little glass dishes - i think like little custard cups - into the feeder with Tess' food.

Punkin always managed to get every bite out of the PetSafe 5 compartment feeder, even with the tight opening and corners.

Go Elizabeth!! :D:D:D

Small dishes work well in the CatMate C20 2-compartment tray feeder and I think they would work well in the Petsafe, too. You just have to be sure to get dishes that clear the "roof"!
