Last Condo
Hello, hello! Sorry we were MIA yesterday. It was another hectic day, and by the time I was able to sit down at the PC it was after midnight, so I thought I'd just wait and do a massive condo today (as opposed to those little short ones I normally do
).
Cinco has been taking his duties as deputy LagoonMeister very seriously. He's spent a lot of time in the water and is taking today off to dry off and let his paw pads unwrinkle. I think he got caught in the undertow last night, as he had a hard time getting back to shore. I'm sure that wore him out. He has a bit of a summer appy going on, even though it's still cool and breezy. Lots of FD salmon has been crumbled to keep him motivated to clean his plate. Really, he's pretty easy in that regard - I know some kitties that could take lessons (not naming names, Minka and Sasha!).
Yesterday was Minka's "final" chemo. The ultrasound showed that her kidneys were back to normal, and the one spot that had been nagging at the oncologists was gone!!! I'm almost afraid to say it, but she is in remission!
She will go back in one month for another ultrasound to be sure nothing has changed for the worse, and if all is well, she will then be on a three month recheck schedule like Sasha and Cinco are. The ultrasound showed that her bowel and pancreas are inflamed, and the oncologist said that she felt it was pancreatitis (as several people here suggested). She did not do the tests to confirm, as she said the treatment would be the same. I'm already doing most of it, but she added in some Bupe for the discomfort. It's weird, 'cause she'll go several days and seem fine (other than bad appy), then she'll have a day when she's all hunched over. So I'll just have to watch for that sign and give her the Bupe. Her oncologist wants a call or e-mail next week, letting her know that she's better. Today is a not so great appy day, but she is relaxed and seems comfy. I've only tried two different fuds so far, so I'll be taking up # 3 shortly. Her blood levels were much improved, so no expen$ive iron supplement yet! (anti-jinx)
I've got an appointment at our regular vet for Sasha for this afternoon. I want her to confirm that it's her allergies acting up and not another URI, and I want her to check out those back legs. Of course, this morning Sasha jumped up on a chair with no apparent problem or discomfort.
Harvey is just being Harvey - no news is good news with him!
I hope to be able to visit more condos this evening. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, even if I don't pop in to say hi.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & Callie, Deanna & Billie, Georgia & Simon, and Rose & Zoey.
Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

I think Michael & Cinco were having a little chat @ the lagoon
