Well, after today's cycle that didn't go much of anywhere, I went with the dosecrease to 2U tonight. Really disappointed to go to 2U since she's never needed that much in over 2 years and it just somehow seems like we're failing.

My head knows that's nonsense and she'll need what she needs, but that doesn't help the heartache...and the fact that I was really hoping the dental she had in March would HELP instead of hurt. I know her mouth has to be healthier, but her insulin needs have just increased ever since

Of course, knowing China, she'll probably do a cliff dive into the 20's tonight

Oh well...here goes nothing!

I'm sorry you've had to take her dose higher Chris. Hopefully this will be the one that starts her back down the scale - and gets her more steadily into better numbers on the way too. Now come on China - prove to us all that you don't really want that increase after all!

I'm sorry you have to go up. I hope it's a short time on this dose and China heads back down soon. I had high hopes that Furball's numbers would come down after her dental, but I didn't see anything different.

Amazing how our moods are so controlled by their numbers. Amazing, but true. And the heart wins over the head in all our internal conflicts.

China....how 'bout dumping this dose for a smaller one....soon!

we definitely get caught up in numbers... bg, dose, quantity...
but just remind yourself that overall she's looking good.
I know I'm not so good at the big picture, I see everything as pointilism. I have to make myself step back and see the whole thing.

Good luck with the increase. No matter how many times you tell yourself that the cat is in charge, it's hard to really believe it. :bighug: And those whole unit boundaries are psychologically hard. Neko and I have been dancing up and down around 3 units for the first time in almost 2.5 years. :( I found it really helped to see how much better the cycles are this time at that dose.

Well so far tonight, this cycle is looking a LOT like this mornings, but I'll chalk it up to NDW and the fact that her depot has to fill a little more

Hopefully this will get her attention and get her back down....both in her numbers and her dose!

I was going to comment on the similarities, myself.

It bears repeating: China is more than her numbers. If she is happy and comfortable and active and loving, then you are NOT failing, you are doing an amazing job!!! FD is not something we can predict or control. Trying to stay one step ahead of it is just an exercise in futility. We all dream of our kitties going OTJ, whether we are willing to admit it or not. We don't want to face the cold truth that with each day it becomes more and more unlikely. But there is always hope, as long as she is healthy and responds to the insulin. So she needs a little more. Sometimes we all need another cup of coffee to get going. That doesn't mean we'll need that extra cup every day forever. Take a deep breath and try to look at the big picture, Chris. Where would China be now if you hadn't committed yourself to this dance? It's incredible what you've done so far. You have your beautiful white kitty there, keeping you entertained and loving you. You are blessed.
