Good Morning LL! :coffee: :coffee: Thank you Elsa! Well, it was another BTB morning. John got the late shift last night and Tess surprised us both with her visit to the mermaids. She says that they promise to protect all kittehs i the deep end of the Lagoon from the sharks!

The paw looks fine. Tess even got adventurous and went for a walkabout outside yesterday and was walking fine, until Emma saw us and came up to say"Hi, mom, any treats?" She got a hiss for her effoorts so I though it was time to bring Tess in.

WCR All 5 Ps, Clean Plate Club, Vines to all the kittehs in need of them and hugs to all their beans.

Something about the deep end seems to be really attractive to Tess. :D:eek:

Good news on the paw. I keep styptic powder around, just in case. Reading that reminded me it was time for hind pawdicures here - enough of using those crampons to launch off of my lap!

Hi Ann,
I have just been looking through Tess's lab results. It is amazing you have been able to keep her so stable with the CRD for all these years. What an inspiration that is to those of us who are dealing with CRD.
Since Sheba was diagnosed with early CRD at the end of last year, I have tried to read all I could about the condition and how to help her. So far her results are stable.
I can see you feed low phosphorus food..do you do anything else to keep her so stable? Is she on any medications relating to the CRD? Thanks Bron

I would say to put Neosporin on the paw, but she'd be sure to lick it off. Maybe if you could just clean it with an alcohol wipe a couple of times a day?

Tess, I know you love your roller coasters, but even thrill seekers like you need a rest sometimes. I'm sure your beans could use one! How about parking your pretty behind on the blue floor for a while?

@Bron and Sheba Until March all we did was the low phos food. In March she went DKA and after she came home from the ER stay we went to sub-cutaneous fluids every day. I think that has really turned her around, she has gained back half a pound! We had started the fluids the week before, but now I wish we had done it earlier. She is feeling so much better and eating really well.

So, no other supplements, just low phosphorus food w/ high quality protein (about half oof her food is raw) and now the fluids. Our vet was holding off on the fluids saying she didn't need they earlier, but it isn't that hard and does make a big difference.

Thanks Ann. That is very interesting. She has done so well...so have you!
I give Sheba quite a lot of extra fluids with her food and as chicken broth, home made. She seems to be fine in that department so far but I am always aware of her hydration. I am so pleased Tess has responded to the sub cut fluids so well. It must have been scary having her go DKA.
I also feed mostly raw with some cooked chicken(as raw chicken doesn't agree with her.)
Thanks for sharing that with me..very appreciative.

Morning Ann and John :coffee::coffee::coffee:

YAY: good news on the claw. Heal well Tess! Bummer on the bounce, but those greens sure were nice. Tess, Mannie is so proud: he loves it that you are taking over his role as the rainbow Kitty. carry on! psstttttt: nice on the outdoor time!

It is nice to read that Tess is doing well. I cannot agree more on the addition of fluids, what turn around that has made for Elsa too. She too has gained back some of her weight loss, plus she just feels better.

Have a good one today!

Tess - nice hissing! ~~ Elsa
