Yesterday's Condo

We inched up to a fat .25 this morning. So far, no difference. We'll see how he does the rest of the day. We'll be out tonight for dinner and cards, so I'm glad we didn't go up a full .25.

My little Houdini got out of his size medium outfit a second time last night and was busily pulling out fur, so I put him back in a small. This morning, I caught him pulling hair out of the little bit of his belly that was exposed by the potty flap. I rearranged the snaps to cover it, so we'll see if that works. Looks like, so far, the meds aren't helping. I really, really, really don't want to have to go back to the cone! Work with me, Cinco!

He had another poo this morning, and it was pretty soft. Wish I had seen it before I put the squash in his food. I'll be sure to put plenty of Forti Flora on his food the rest of the day.

Minka has been eating like a little horse all morning again! I don't know how to explain it, but I sure am happy about it! Still giving that little squeak when I bring her food. :):):)

Sasha is still getting off to a slow start, appy-wise, and needing plenty of garnish. No idea why her appy has fallen off a bit, unless it's the weather. She's on Pred every other day now, as she hasn't had any allergy symptoms in over a week (anti-jinx). I'm thinking of going to every third day to see how she does. The vet said I could phase it out when I thought she was ready. I love that she trusts me to make these decisions.

Harvey is his usual self. He was harassing Minka a little earlier and I had to pick her up to get her out of harm's way. I guess he's feeling pretty well if he's back to his more obnoxious tricks.

Hope you are all enjoying your Caturday.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. Extra vines for Michelle's Elsa and Jamye's Fred. :bighug: Prayers and vines to Amy's DF, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM and Elise's DM.

Good call on the increase - kitties are missing Cinco in the lagoon. I bet Mark had fun with the dose this AM. Maybe a little NDW will let you go out for dinner and cards tonight.

Bummer on the outfit failure. Sounds like the poor little guy is really itchy.

Three cheers for Minka appy, less allergy symptoms for Sasha, and feeling good to be bratty by Harvey. :)

OK, Cinco. Prove that a little dab will do ya'. And stop with the wardrobe malfunctions!

Good on Minka. Even the little squeak. Shasha, don't let her get ahead of you.

Harvey...what can I say.

Have fun tonight.

Tricia:

We usually don't have birds come into the courtyard. They would have to swoop down and there's the risk of them smashing into the glass. There was a cardinal that was perched on the roof and gutter that had both me and Gizmo pretty fascinated. He lives in the neighborhood and I hear him singing in the mornings.

Have you ever tried just plain calamine lotion on that itchy spot of Cinco's. Sheba had an itchy spot on her neck which nearly drove her mad and I tried everything to no avail. I ended up using calamine lotion on it about three times a day and it eventually went away. It seemed to settle the itch too. Just a thought.......

Good luck with the increase. Sorry Cinco is still managing to pull fur out. Yay for a good appy for Minka. I hope Sasha's appy picks up.

Thanks for stopping by, Wendy, Marilyn, Sienne, Bron and Carla.

Cinco stayed flat blue today. I hope he will do the same tonight, and then tomorrow he can go splash to his little heart's content.

@Wendy&Neko, I think his whole back end is itchy. When I rub there, he closes his eyes and looks like, "ahhhhhh!" Then he remembers he doesn't like to be touched back there and pretends he's going to bite me.

@Sienne and Gabby, I remember when you mentioned the cardinal. They are such beautiful birds. We saw them a lot, growing up in Arizona.

@Bron and Sheba, I have not tried calamine. Cinco has a fit if I touch those areas, so it would require two people to put it on. The vets wanted me to keep the area dry, too, and didn't advise putting anything on it, so I stopped with the ACV and also the aloe vera. We were hoping the AB and the Zyrtec would take care of the itching, but so far no joy. The best was the spray Aloe Vera, as that did not require me to touch him, and he didn't mind it at all. With the outfit on, it's hard to put anything on him, because getting it on and off is a bit complicated, especially since I get no cooperation from Cinco.

Minka ate well all day. :):):) That's two in a row. I'm hoping for a record of three good days in a row (anti-jinx). The more good days, hopefully, the more chance she's healing. I sure don't mind opening cans when I see her cleaning the plate. Much nicer than opening them and watching her sniff and walk away!!!

I have a great sense of accomplishment right now, because I finally completed the transfer of my summer clothes. I keep my off season clothes in the guest room and switch out twice a year. I moved the folded stuff earlier this week, and today I did the hanging stuff. It's so nice to have the closet looking somewhat tidy again. That won't last long, but I'll enjoy it while it does! Poor Sasha is exhausted, because when I'm upstairs she wants to be in the same room with me. She kept trying to follow me back and forth from one room to the other! She finally gave up and just laid down in the hall!

Time to go get in the shower and get read for our evening out.

That is a shame you could not try the calamine lotion. After it has been on for a short while it dries to be quite dry, so you could put the outfit back on. Would he mind terribly if you dabbed it on with a bit of cotton wool?maybe while he was eating ? Just trying to think how we can help you :)
ETA. Can you get the actual aloa Vera plant. I have it growing in the garden and if I get a burn or scald I put the sap from the broken leaf directly on it and it is amazing how quickly it heals it.....that could be another option...as long as Cinco didn't lick it.

Im thinking Cinco might be having an identity crisis and thinking he's a girl rabbit and be pulling out his fur to make a nest - no? Sorry that's all I have left ;) sending a truck load of anti itching vines for your gorgeous boy.

Calamine does dry really quickly, I wonder if he'd let you scratch it onto him, but then I guess you'd have to worry about him getting to the area again with his mouth, he is very determined.

So happy for the squeaking Minka's appy hopefully her antics will encourage Sasha.

As for Harvey - behave yourself young man!

Well done on the wardrobe change over, it's always so nice to get a task like completed :) Well so I hear I'm not so good at completing household tasks myself!
